Places to Visit in Nanjanagudu

Srikanteshwara Temple

Srikanteshwara Temple

The Dakshina Kashi, and among the largest temples in Karnataka - a walled compound with a seven-tier gopuram, a long pillared prakaram and over a hundred and twenty shrines, built up over a millennium by successive dynasties. The deity is Nanjundeshwara, Shiva as the one who consumed poison, and locally Hakim Nanjunda after the Tipu Sultan endowment. Visit in the morning session; the temple keeps a midday break. Allow ninety minutes to see the compound properly rather than the twenty minutes most day visitors give it.

The Kapila and the Ghats

The Kapila and the Ghats

The Kapila - the Kabini - runs below the temple and the ghats are used for the ritual bath before darshan, as at the great river shrines. The river rises in Wayanad and joins the Cauvery at Tirumakudalu Narasipura downstream, which is itself a confluence site of some significance. Visit at first light when the ghats are busy and the light is on the water. Flow varies considerably with the season and with releases from the Kabini dam upstream, so follow local direction rather than assuming.

Rasabale and the Tooth Powder

Rasabale and the Tooth Powder

Two things Nanjangud is known for beyond the temple, and both are genuine. Nanjangud rasabale is a banana variety with a GI tag - short, thin-skinned, intensely aromatic and quite unlike a commercial banana - grown in a small area around the town and increasingly scarce, which is why finding it is a minor achievement. And Nanjangud tooth powder has been made here since the nineteenth century and still commands a following that has outlasted a good deal of multinational marketing. Buy both in the town rather than assuming you will find them elsewhere.

Suttur Math

Suttur Math

Around ten kilometres from Nanjangud on the Kapila, Suttur is the seat of a Veerashaiva monastic institution going back to the eleventh century, running a large educational network across Karnataka alongside its religious function. The annual Suttur jatra in January or February draws very large numbers over several days, with a cattle fair, cultural programmes and mass feeding. Visit outside the jatra for a quiet riverside math, or during it for one of the larger rural gatherings in the state - and book well ahead if the latter.

Mysore

Mysore

Twenty-three kilometres north and the obvious pairing. The Amba Vilas palace, Chamundi Hills with the Nandi on the ascent, St Philomena, the Devaraja market and Brindavan Gardens beyond - a full day easily, and the palace illumination on Sunday evenings and public holidays is worth timing for. Visit Mysore on the same trip as a matter of course; a great many of our Nanjangud bookings are actually Mysore trips with the temple added, and the two together make a comfortable two-day itinerary.

Talakadu, Bandipur and Kabini

Talakadu, Bandipur and Kabini

Three quite different extensions. Talakadu, around forty kilometres east on the Cauvery, is the buried town where temples emerge from and disappear under sand dunes - one of the stranger sites in Karnataka. Bandipur is sixty kilometres south with forest department safaris and a reliable elephant population. Kabini, on the reservoir west of it, is the best-known wildlife destination in the state. Visit any as a second day; all three are closer to Nanjangud than to Bangalore and the town works well as a staging point.

Tempo Traveller Packages for the Bangalore to Nanjanagudu Route

Corporate Package

Nanjanagudu sits in a genuine industrial corridor, and a good share of our bookings here are plant visits, vendor audits and supplier meetings at the Nanjanagudu and Mysore industrial areas rather than temple trips. The package includes GST invoicing, a Proforma Invoice for PO-based approval, a named driver retained for the full duration, and consolidated monthly billing for registered accounts. The vehicle stays with the team through the day, which matters when a site visit overruns and the return leg has to move. Multi-vehicle requirements and recurring monthly runs are handled by our corporate travels bangalore desk. Teams combining a Mysore overnight with a Nanjanagudu morning are quoted as a single itinerary.

Family and Pilgrimage Package

The core booking on this route, and usually an extended family across three generations travelling for a specific religious purpose — a vow, a naming, an annual visit, or the Rathotsava. The package is designed around that reality: an early departure to reach the temple for the morning darshan window, a driver who waits without pressure while the group completes a lengthy seva, and the flexibility to add T. Narasipura, Talakadu or Chamundi Hills to the return depending on how the morning runs. Where a group is travelling with elderly members, mention it at enquiry — we allocate accordingly and plan drop points closer to temple entrances. Groups building a wider temple tour package from bangalore across Nanjanagudu, Somanathapura and Melukote are quoted for the full circuit.

Budget Package

For groups where cost per head is the deciding factor. Non-AC 8 to 14 seater tempo travellers, point to point, no frills, clean vehicle, verified driver — suited to community groups, temple associations, college outings and school excursions. The tempo traveller rate per km in bangalore for the non-AC tier is our lowest, and on a same-day return of roughly 340 kilometres the saving across a full group is meaningful. October to February the non-AC option is entirely comfortable on this route; April and May it is not, and we will say so. The budget tier is about vehicle specification, never about maintenance or driver vetting. Schools booking under school excursion bus rental bangalore receive the same driver verification and vehicle checks as any other tier.

Luxury and Executive Package

A luxury tempo traveller bangalore in executive configuration — fewer, wider push-back seats, additional legroom, better trim, improved sound insulation and a noticeably quieter cabin. On a day itinerary running from a 5:00 AM departure to a late return, with ten or eleven stops in between, the difference is functional rather than decorative. Suited to senior management travel, milestone family occasions and any group that wants to stay together without giving up comfort. For a step further, our luxury urbania rental bangalore option in 13 to 17 seater configuration is a premium alternative on the same route, and for parties under eight the cab rental bangalore fleet runs Innova Crysta, Fortuner and premium marques.

Our Vehicle Range in Bangalore

Our ac tempo traveller bangalore fleet covers 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 seater configurations in AC and non-AC. We run the full range of group vehicles from one Bangalore base, so a change in headcount after booking can usually be absorbed by moving category rather than starting the process again.

•             Tempo traveller — 8 to 18 seater, AC and non-AC, the core vehicle for this route

•             Force Urbania — 13 to 17 seater luxury van, the premium alternative in the same size band

•             Mini bus — 12 to 24 seater, AC and non-AC

•             Bus — 27 to 50 seater, including Volvo and Benz coaches for large groups

•             Cars — 4 to 7 seater, from Etios, Dzire, Innova, Innova Crysta and Innova Hycross through Fortuner and Commuter, up to Corolla Altis, Camry, Audi A6, Audi Q7, BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz E Class, Mercedes-Benz S Class and Rolls-Royce Ghost

Tejas Tours and Travels does not operate sleeper bus services. All vehicles are seated configuration with push-back seats. On this route it makes no practical difference, since Nanjanagudu is comfortably a same-day return, but it is worth stating plainly for anyone weighing an overnight departure.

Billing Details — What Is Included and What Is Extra

We quote in writing before you book and the quote itemises everything, so nothing appears at trip end that you have not already approved. A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms the booking.

Included in the Quoted Fare

•             Base fare and fuel charges

•             Driver allowance

Not Included — Billed Separately at Actuals

•             Toll charges and parking fees

•             Interstate tax, where a route crosses a state border

•             Additional driver bata after 9:45 PM

•             GST as applicable

•             Final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage

Garage-to-garage is the standard basis across organised group transport in Bangalore. The meter starts when the vehicle leaves our garage for your pickup and stops when it returns, and we build that into the written quote — so the figure you approve is the figure you pay. Worth flagging on this route specifically: a same-day Nanjanagudu return that adds Talakadu or Somanathapura frequently gets the group back into Bangalore after 9:45 PM, which triggers the additional driver bata. We will tell you at quote stage if your itinerary is likely to cross that line, so it is never a surprise on the invoice. There is no interstate tax on this route, since the journey stays inside Karnataka throughout.

Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if required. Vehicle insurance and full statutory driver and vehicle compliance are maintained across the fleet.

How to Book a Tempo Traveller for Rent in Bangalore — Step by Step

Booking a tempo traveller for hire in Bangalore with Tejas Travels takes under five minutes. Follow these four steps.

Step 1 — Contact Tejas Travels

•             Call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773, or email info@tejastravels.com. Available 24 hours, 7 days a week.

•             Share your travel date.

•             Share your Bangalore pickup location — area or landmark such as Whitefield, Electronic City, MG Road, Koramangala, KIA airport, a hotel name or a tech park.

•             Share your destination or full itinerary.

•             Share your number of passengers and preferred vehicle.

•             For KIA airport pickups, share the flight number. The driver tracks live flight status and adjusts pickup timing for delayed flights automatically.

•             For luxury vehicles including Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Rolls-Royce, also mention the occasion — corporate, wedding or VIP event — so the team can allocate the best-condition vehicle and, where required, arrange formal chauffeur attire.

•             For Nanjanagudu temple bookings, mention your intended darshan or seva timing so the departure can be set to reach it.

Step 2 — Receive Your Written Quote

•             Within 2 hours of your enquiry, Tejas Travels sends a written quote via WhatsApp or email.

•             The quote clearly itemises every charge:

•             Vehicle hire rate — per kilometre or flat package

•             Driver allowance — Rs 400 to Rs 1,000 per day depending on vehicle class

•             Applicable toll estimates

•             Interstate permit where applicable — not required for Nanjanagudu, but applicable for Ooty in Tamil Nadu, Wayanad in Kerala and Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh

•             GST

•             No verbal-only prices. Everything is in writing before you confirm.

•             For corporate clients requiring reimbursements, a Proforma Invoice can be issued at this stage.

•             If you want to compare two vehicle classes, request both quotes at the same time.

Step 3 — Confirm Your Booking and Pay Advance

•             Once satisfied with the written quote, confirm via WhatsApp or phone.

•             A 20 percent advance payment of the total fare confirms the booking.

•             Payment options: UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), NEFT, IMPS or RTGS bank transfer, or credit and debit card via payment link.

•             Advance receipt issued within 30 minutes.

•             Your confirmation includes:

•             Driver name and mobile number

•             Vehicle registration number

•             Departure time

•             Pickup location

•             Full billing breakdown — all in writing

•             For luxury vehicles including the Rolls-Royce Ghost, BMW 7 Series and Mercedes S-Class, a higher advance may apply, given limited fleet and Bangalore peak-date demand across the November to February wedding season and New Year.

Step 4 — Your Driver Arrives Early

•             Your assigned Tejas Travels driver arrives at the confirmed Bangalore pickup point 15 minutes before scheduled departure.

•             For KIA airport transfers, the driver coordinates at the Arrivals gate.

•             The vehicle is clean, sanitised, fuelled and ready.

•             For wedding and VIP bookings, the driver arrives in formal attire.

•             The driver calls 30 minutes before arrival as a courtesy.

•             During the trip the driver handles all routing, toll payments and Bangalore traffic navigation.

•             At trip end the balance is settled after deducting the advance.

•             Any additional kilometres or hours are billed at the pre-agreed rate.

Quick booking: WhatsApp +91 9980277773 with your vehicle preference, Bangalore pickup location, destination and travel date. Written quote in 2 hours.

•             Net banking — All major Indian banks. Payment link via WhatsApp or email. Preferred for Bangalore IT corporate PO-based approvals.

•             Cash — Balance payable at time of travel, accepted at trip end. The advance must be digital for booking confirmation. A receipt is issued.

•             Corporate credit — For registered corporate accounts, with 30-day credit terms for signed Bangalore corporate clients and monthly consolidated invoicing available.

Luxury vehicle note: for the Rolls-Royce Ghost, BMW 7 Series and Mercedes S-Class, a higher advance may be required given limited Bangalore fleet availability and wedding season demand.

Frequently Asked Questions — Bangalore to Nanjanagudu Tempo Traveller

The bangalore to nanjangud distance by road is approximately 170 kilometres, running down NH275 through Ramanagara, Channapatna, Maddur, Mandya and Srirangapatna to Mysore, then 23 kilometres south on NH766. Allow 3 hours 30 minutes to 4 hours 30 minutes including halts. Departure time is the largest variable: leaving between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM clears the Kengeri and Bidadi stretch before it congests, and puts you at the temple inside the morning darshan window. A mid-morning start can add well over an hour.

Yes, comfortably, and this is how most groups book it. A 5:00 AM departure gets you to the temple by around 8:30 AM, leaves the whole middle of the day for Nanjanagudu plus Chamundi Hills or Srirangapatna, and returns to Bangalore by evening. Adding Talakadu and Somanathapura makes it a long but manageable day — expect a late return, and note that arrival back after 9:45 PM triggers the additional driver bata, which we will flag at quote stage. Groups wanting Bandipur or Kabini as well should plan an overnight in Mysore or Nanjanagudu instead.

Tempo traveller fare costs around Rs 8,750. The final figure depends on vehicle class, number of days and total kilometres run. Since billing is garage to garage on actual kilometres and hours, we issue a written itemised quote within 2 hours rather than a verbal estimate.

A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms your booking and holds the specific vehicle on your travel date. The advance must be paid digitally by UPI, bank transfer or card. A receipt is issued within 30 minutes, and the balance is settled at trip end after deducting the advance.

We run 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 seater configurations in AC and non-AC. As a rule of thumb, book one size above your headcount if the group is travelling with luggage or with elderly passengers who will appreciate the space — a 17 seater carrying twelve is a noticeably better day than a 12 seater carrying twelve. Under eight passengers, a bangalore to nanjangud cab in an Innova or Crysta is usually more economical. Above eighteen, a 12 to 24 seater mini bus is the next step.

Yes, and this is the standard arrangement on this route. The same vehicle and driver stay with you throughout, covering the Srikanteshwara temple, the Kapila ghats, Suttur, and onward legs to T. Narasipura, Talakadu, Somanathapura or Chamundi Hills. The driver waits at each stop for as long as the group needs — important when a seva or archana runs longer than planned. Billing is on total kilometres and hours with a per-day minimum plus driver allowance. Share your intended stops at enquiry and we quote the whole day as one number.

October to March is the most comfortable window for the drive and for the temple town itself. Early morning is best for darshan on any day of the year, and weekdays are considerably calmer than weekends. The Chaitra Dodda Jathre in March or April is the town’s great event, with five chariots drawn through the streets, but the main road closes to vehicles during the principal days, so a group travelling then must plan parking and walking distance in advance. Shivaratri and the Karthika month also bring large crowds.

Yes, but book early. Festival dates are committed weeks ahead and availability tightens sharply, particularly for 16 and 18 seaters. We also plan those itineraries differently: earlier departure, an alternative drop point outside the closed section, and a longer buffer on the return leg. Cancellation on festival dates requires a minimum 7-day notice for a full refund, because those vehicles cannot realistically be reallocated at short notice.

No. Tejas Tours and Travels does not operate sleeper bus services, and all our tempo travellers are seated configuration with push-back seats. On this route it makes no practical difference — at roughly three and a half hours, Nanjanagudu is a same-day destination, and an early departure gets you there in time for the morning darshan with the whole day still ahead.

Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if they wish to be covered. All vehicles carry valid insurance and full statutory compliance, and every driver is verified with a commercial licence and route experience, but personal passenger cover is not part of the booking. To book, call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773 or email info@tejastravels.com with your travel date, Bangalore pickup location, passenger count and intended stops. A written itemised quote follows within 2 hours; confirm it, pay the 20 percent advance, and you receive driver details, vehicle registration and the full billing breakdown in writing. Our tempo traveller hire bangalore enquiry lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
