Padmavati Devi Temple
The principal shrine of the kshetra, where Padmavati is worshipped as the presiding deity rather than as an attendant figure. The temple is modest in scale by comparison with the great Karnataka complexes and busy in a quiet, steady way - pilgrims arrive through the day, particularly from the Jain communities of Karnataka and Maharashtra. Visit in the morning or the evening session. The temple keeps a midday break, dress conventions apply, and the annual rathotsava is worth planning around or avoiding depending on whether you want the crowd.

Bangalore
Departure Point
Your journey to Ooty begins from Bangalore, the gateway to South India's most beloved hill stations. Pick-up is available from any part of the city — Koramangala, Electronic City, Whitefield, Hebbal, Yeshwanthpur, Marathahalli, or Majestic. The most common route out of Bangalore takes you onto NH275, the six-lane Mysore Expressway, which is one of the smoothest and best-maintained national highways in Karnataka. An early departure between 5 AM and 6 AM is strongly advised to clear Bangalore city limits before peak traffic begins. The first 50 km on the expressway are fast, comfortable, and lightly trafficked in the early hours, setting a pleasant tone for the journey ahead. Our drivers are experienced in choosing the optimal departure window and route based on real-time traffic conditions, ensuring that the first stretch of your Bangalore to Ooty road trip is efficient, calm, and enjoyable from the very first kilometre.

Tiptur
Copra Capital of India
The route leaves Bangalore northwest on NH 48 and branches at Nelamangala, which is the only stretch that depends on timing rather than road - our drivers aim to be past the junction before 7:00 AM, since four corridors diverge there. Tumakuru is the Kalpataru Nadu, the land of the wish-fulfilling tree, which here means coconut - the district grows a great deal of it, and the Siddaganga Math on the edge of town has fed and educated students free for generations. Tiptur, sixty kilometres on, is the copra capital of India: its dry coconut carries a GI tag and the market here sets prices for the trade nationally. The coconut country either side of the road is unbroken for an hour.

Tarikere
Gateway to Bhadra
Arsikere is a substantial railway junction and coconut trading town, and it holds something most travellers drive past without knowing - a thirteenth-century Hoysala Ishvara temple with a sixteen-pointed star mandapa that is among the more architecturally inventive of the smaller Hoysala buildings. Twenty minutes off the road, and worth it. Kadur and Birur follow, junction towns where the Chikmagalur and Shivamogga roads divide, and then Tarikere, which is the turn for the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary and reservoir. The country here is transitional - still plateau, but the Ghats are visible to the west and the vegetation is thickening.

Shivamogga
Gateway to the Malnad
Seventy kilometres north-west on good road as the landscape turns properly Malnad - areca, paddy and forest, with the Ghats closer and the light different. Shivamogga sits on the Tunga and is the district town from which this entire region is administered and reached. It is the natural lunch halt and the last place with a full range of services before the hill roads. For groups extending the trip, Shivamogga is also the practical base for Jog, Sagara and the Sharavathi country - a good number of our Humcha bookings actually stay here rather than at Humcha, which has very limited accommodation.

Humcha
Padmavati Kshetra of Karnataka
Seventy kilometres west and the character changes completely. The road narrows and winds through areca gardens and forest, climbing gently into the Malnad proper, and the pace drops well below what the distance suggests - budget an hour and a half rather than an hour. Hosanagara is the taluk town, in the country of the Sharavathi backwaters. Humcha is small: the temple, the math, the basadis and a village around them, with the hills close on every side. It has been a Jain settlement continuously since the Santaras founded it around the eighth century, which is a long time for a place this size to have held its character. Our driver takes you to the confirmed address and assists with luggage. A 6:00 AM departure puts most travellers in Humcha by around 2:30 PM, in time for the evening session at the temple.

Tempo Traveller Packages for the Bangalore to Humcha Route
Corporate Package
For Bangalore teams heading into Malenadu for offsites, planning retreats and CSR work, and for companies with plant or supplier interests around Bhadravathi and Shivamogga. Includes GST invoicing, a Proforma Invoice for PO-based approval, one named driver for the full multi-day trip, and consolidated monthly billing for registered accounts. The same corporate tempo traveller bangalore vehicle stays with the team across every leg, with duty slips signed daily and reconciled against the final invoice. Our corporate travels bangalore desk manages the arrangement end to end.
Family and Pilgrimage Package
The core booking on this corridor. Usually a three to five day loop taking in Hombuja, Jog Falls, Sringeri, Kollur and often Murudeshwar or Udupi, planned around temple timings rather than driving hours. The driver waits at temple gates without needing to be asked, which is the thing families mention most afterwards. Luggage volume decides vehicle size on a multi-day trip more often than headcount does, so tell us both when you enquire.
Budget Package
For groups where cost per head decides the booking. Non-AC 12 to 14 seater tempo travellers, point to point, no frills, clean vehicle, verified driver — suited to college groups, community associations and pilgrimage parties. Malenadu is cool enough for most of the year that non-AC is a genuinely reasonable choice here rather than a compromise. The budget tier is about vehicle specification only; maintenance schedules, driver vetting and statutory compliance do not vary by tier.
Luxury and Executive Package
Higher-specification tempo travellers with fewer, wider recliner seats, extra legroom, better sound insulation and premium interiors — worth the difference on a route where the vehicle is with you for four days rather than four hours. Suited to senior management travel, milestone family trips and trust or committee groups. For a further step up, our luxury urbania rental bangalore option in 13 to 17 seater configuration runs the same corridor with standing headroom and captain seating.
Our Fleet in Bangalore
Our ac tempo traveller rental bangalore fleet covers 8, 12, 14, 16 and 18 seater configurations. We operate the full range of group vehicles from one Bangalore base, so if headcount shifts after booking we can usually move you across categories without restarting the process.
• Tempo traveller — 8 to 18 seater, AC and non-AC, the core vehicle for this route
• Force Urbania — 13 to 17 seater luxury van, the premium alternative in the same size band
• Mini bus — 12 to 24 seater, for larger groups on the same corridor
• Bus — 27 to 50 seater, including Volvo and Benz coaches, for large temple trust and school movements
• Cars — 4 to 7 seater, from Etios, Dzire, Innova, Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross, Fortuner and Commuter through Corolla Altis, Camry, Audi A6, Audi Q7, BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz E Class, Mercedes-Benz S Class and Rolls-Royce Ghost
Tejas Tours and Travels does not operate sleeper bus services. All our vehicles are seated configuration with push-back seats. On this route we run in daylight with a hotel halt at Humcha, Ripponpet, Sagara or Shivamogga rather than driving Malenadu roads overnight.
Billing Details — What Is Included and What Is Extra
We quote in writing before you book and the quote itemises every line, so nothing appears for the first time at trip end. A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms the booking.
Included in the Quoted Fare
• Base fare and fuel charges
• Driver allowance
Not Included — Billed Separately at Actuals
• Toll charges and parking fees
• Interstate tax, where an itinerary crosses into another state
• Additional driver bata after 9:45 PM
• GST as applicable
• Final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage
Humcha lies entirely within Karnataka, so no interstate permit applies unless the itinerary extends into Goa or Kerala. Garage-to-garage billing is the standard basis across the organised group transport industry in Bangalore: the meter starts when the vehicle leaves our garage for your pickup and stops when it returns. That is built into the written quote, so the figure you approve is the figure you settle.
Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if required. Vehicle insurance and full statutory driver and vehicle compliance are maintained across the fleet.

• Share your travel date.
• Share your Bangalore pickup location — area or landmark such as Whitefield, Electronic City, MG Road, Koramangala, a hotel name, a tech park, or KIA airport.
• Share your destination or full day-wise itinerary.
• Share your number of passengers and your luggage volume, both of which affect the size we recommend.

• For weddings, corporate delegations and VIP movement, mention the occasion so the team can allocate the best-condition vehicle and, where required, arrange formal chauffeur attire.
• For Humcha, Jog Falls and other Malenadu circuits, share the full day-wise itinerary so we can allocate a driver who knows the Shivamogga and Hosanagara roads.
Step 2 — Receive Your Written Quote
• Within 2 hours of your enquiry, Tejas Travels sends a written quote via WhatsApp or email.

What Our Customers Say About Our Tempo Traveller Services in Bangalore
Why Choose Tejas Tours and Travels?
Frequently Asked Questions — Bangalore to Humcha Tempo Traveller
The bangalore to humcha distance is approximately 355 kilometres by road, running through Tumkur, Tiptur, Arsikere, Kadur, Tarikere, Bhadravathi, Shivamogga and Ripponpet. Allow 7.5 to 8.5 hours including halts. An alternate line via Hassan, Belur and Chikmagalur covers roughly the same distance and suits groups who want the Hoysala temples on the way out. Leaving Bangalore at 5:30 AM puts a group at Hombuja by mid-afternoon with time for darshan the same day.
Tempo traveller fare starts around Rs 20,000. The final figure depends on vehicle class, number of days and total kilometres run. Since billing is garage to garage on actual kilometres and hours, we issue a written itemised quote within 2 hours rather than a verbal estimate.
A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms your booking. It must be paid digitally by UPI, bank transfer or card, and a receipt is issued within 30 minutes. The balance is settled at trip end after deducting the advance. For peak dates — New Year, Diwali, Dasara and long weekends — book well ahead, as Malenadu circuit vehicles are committed early.
Hombuja itself takes half a day. Realistically you want three to four days to make the drive worthwhile: day one to travel and take darshan, day two for Nagara Fort, Keladi, Ikkeri and Jog Falls, day three for Kodachadri or Kollur, and day four to return, often via Sringeri. Groups that try to do Humcha and Jog as a two-day round trip from Bangalore spend most of it in the vehicle.
For Jog Falls, July to October, when the Linganamakki dam is releasing and all four streams are running. Outside that window the falls can be badly reduced. For the temple and the wider circuit, November to February is the most comfortable — dry, cool and clear. Malenadu monsoon between June and September is heavy, and while the roads stay open, leeches and low visibility on the Kodachadri and Agumbe sections are genuine considerations.
No. The route stays within Karnataka from end to end, so no permit or border tax applies. A permit is only relevant if you extend the trip toward Goa or into Kerala, in which case we arrange the documentation before departure and bill it at actuals.
Not to the summit. The last stretch to Kodachadri is a rough Ghat track restricted to local jeeps, and no tempo traveller, minibus or car should attempt it. Our driver takes you to the base at Nittur or Kattinahole, waits there, and you continue by local jeep or on foot. The same applies to some monsoon-season forest approaches — the driver will tell you honestly rather than risk the vehicle.
Our fleet runs 8, 12, 14, 16 and 18 seater configurations in AC and non-AC. On a multi-day circuit like this one, luggage volume decides the size as often as headcount does — a group of twelve with a week of bags is more comfortable in a 16 seater. Above eighteen passengers we move you to a 12 to 24 seater mini bus, and for a premium alternative in the same band the 13 to 17 seater Force Urbania runs the same corridor.
Yes, and this is how nearly all these bookings work. The same vehicle and driver remain with the group throughout — Hombuja, Nagara, Sagara, Jog, Kodachadri, Kollur, Sringeri and onward to Udupi or Murudeshwar if you continue west. Multi-day hire is billed on total kilometres and hours with a per-day minimum plus driver allowance. Share your day-wise itinerary at enquiry stage and we quote the entire trip as a single figure.
Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover, and passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if they wish to be covered. All vehicles carry valid insurance and full statutory compliance, and every driver is verified with a commercial licence and route experience, but personal passenger cover is not part of the booking. We also do not operate sleeper bus services — all vehicles are seated configuration with push-back seats. To book, call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773 or email info@tejastravels.com with your travel date, Bangalore pickup location, passenger count and day-wise itinerary. A written itemised quote follows within 2 hours; confirm it, pay the 20 percent advance, and you receive driver details, vehicle registration and the full billing breakdown in writing. Our tempo traveller rental bangalore enquiry lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
