Iruppu Falls
Iruppu Falls, also known as Lakshmana Tirtha Falls, is one of the most sacred and scenic waterfalls in Coorg. Located within the Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary near the Kerala border, the falls are fed by the Lakshmana Tirtha River and drop approximately 60 metres into a rocky pool below. The route runs 265 to 275 km depending on your exact pickup and drop points, and a tempo traveller covers it in 5 hours 45 minutes to 6 hours 30 minutes with one meal break. A 26 seater is slightly slower than a 12 seater on the final ghat climb. Leaving before 6.30 am makes a real difference on Fridays and Saturdays.
Rates start from around Rs 24 per kilometre for a 12-seater air-conditioned vehicle with a 300 km per day minimum, and vary by seating capacity, configuration, season and trip length. Because the fare depends on your itinerary, we do not publish one fixed number. Send your dates and group size on WhatsApp for an itemized written quote within two hours.
The final rental is based on the total kilometres and hours run from our garage to garage, not from your pickup point to your drop point. This is standard practice for outstation hire in Bengaluru and it is stated in your quote before you pay anything. Your quote shows the estimated garage-to-garage kilometres, so there is no surprise at settlement.
Included: base fare, fuel charges and driver allowance. Excluded: toll and parking at actuals, interstate tax where applicable, additional driver bata for running past 9.45 pm, and GST at prevailing rates. Kodagu is entirely within Karnataka, so no interstate permit applies on a straight Bengaluru to Coorg trip. Extending into Wayanad makes the Kerala permit applicable, shown separately.
Twenty percent of the total fare confirms your booking, payable by UPI, NEFT, IMPS, RTGS, or credit or debit card through a payment link. An advance receipt is issued within 30 minutes, and your confirmation carries the driver name and mobile number, vehicle registration and departure time. The balance is settled at the end of the trip.
We run 9, 12, 14, 17, and 20 seaters in standard and recliner configurations. As a rule, nine to twelve passengers suits a 12 or 14 seater, thirteen to seventeen a 17 seater, and eighteen seater. A Kodagu trip generates return luggage, so if your group sits right at a boundary, take the next size up.
Mandalpatti cannot be reached by tempo traveller, car or bus. The last 8 km is a broken jeep track and only local four-wheel-drive jeeps operate on it, hired at the base, where your driver waits. Estate and homestay approach roads vary in quality, so give us your exact stay address when booking.
Yes. If the vehicle is in use after 9.45 pm, an additional driver bata applies over and above the driver allowance already included in your fare, and this is disclosed in your written quote. It is worth planning your Kodagu departure so that you clear the ghat in daylight anyway, which is both safer and more pleasant.
Cancellations more than 72 hours before departure carry no charge and the full advance is refunded within 5 to 7 working days. Charges then rise in tiers as departure approaches, as set out in the cancellation table above. Modifications such as a date change, vehicle upgrade or route addition requested more than 24 hours ahead carry no penalty, subject to availability.
No. Tejas Tours and Travels does not cover passenger insurance. The vehicle carries the statutory insurance required under the Motor Vehicles Act, but personal cover for passengers is not provided by the company, and travellers who want it should arrange their own travel insurance before the trip.
