Tejas Travels maintains a fair, transparent and tiered cancellation policy. All terms are communicated in writing at booking confirmation, with no hidden conditions.
• More than 72 hours before departure. No cancellation charge. 100 percent of the advance is refunded within 5 to 7 working days.
• 48 to 72 hours before departure. Cancellation charge of 10 percent of the total trip fare. Advance refunded less the 10 percent deduction.
• 24 to 48 hours before departure. Cancellation charge of 25 percent of the total trip fare. Advance refunded less the 25 percent deduction.
• 12 to 24 hours before departure. Cancellation charge of 50 percent of the total trip fare. Advance refunded less the 50 percent deduction.
• Less than 12 hours before departure. Cancellation charge of 75 percent of the total trip fare. Minimal or no refund depending on trip value.
• No-show, where the bus is deployed and the group is absent. Charge of 100 percent of the total trip fare. No refund, and the full fare is payable.
• Cancellation by Tejas Travels, for breakdown or force majeure. No charge. 100 percent refunded within 2 working days, or an alternate vehicle is offered.
Special Cancellation Conditions for Bangalore Mini Bus Hire
• Wayanad and multi-day outstation hire. Minimum 7-day notice for a full refund on overnight and multi-day mini bus hire from Bangalore.
• Weather and district advisories. Where the Kerala authorities issue a red alert or restrict access to Wayanad for your travel dates, the booking is transferred to a new date at no penalty, or refunded in full if you prefer.
• Weddings. Minimum 7-day notice for a full refund. Cancellations within 3 days of the wedding date are non-refundable.
• Peak dates. New Year, Onam, Diwali, Dasara and long weekends require a minimum 48-hour notice for a full refund.
• Corporate contracts. Monthly corporate commute contract terms govern. Modifications with 48-hour notice are accommodated subject to route availability.
• Force majeure. Bangalore bandhs, road closures, monsoon landslide closures and other force majeure events attract a 100 percent refund within 2 working days regardless of notice period.
• Modifications. Date changes, vehicle upgrades and route additions with more than 24 hours notice are accommodated at no penalty, subject to availability.

All refunds are processed to the original payment instrument. No cash refund is issued unless the advance was paid in cash.

• Billing error or overcharge. Full overcharged amount, refunded within 2 to 3 working days after verification.
• Duplicate payment. Full duplicate amount, refunded within 2 to 3 working days after confirmation.

• UPI. Refund to the UPI-linked bank account within 3 to 5 working days.
• Credit or Debit Card. Refund to the originating card within 5 to 7 working days.
• Bank Transfer. Refund to the originating account within 3 to 5 working days. Account details are re-confirmed before processing.

The forest stretch on NH766 through Bandipur is closed to all vehicles from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM to protect wildlife movement, with no exemption for tourist coaches. A group leaving Bangalore in the afternoon will not reach Wayanad that night. We build every itinerary backwards from that gate and flag it at quotation stage, so it never becomes a surprise on the road.
Yes, a permit is required, and no, it is not part of the base fare. Wayanad is in Kerala and the route crosses the state line at Muthanga, so an interstate permit applies to every trip on this route without exception. We arrange it in advance and show the cost as its own line on your written quote, so you know the figure before you travel rather than at the checkpost.
Their status has changed more than once since the July 2024 landslides in the Meppadi area, and trekking and eco-tourism sites across the district are also suspended at short notice during red alert warnings. We check the current position with the forest office before finalising any itinerary. Please do not plan a trip around Chembra Peak without confirming with us first, and treat any competitor page listing it as definitely open with caution.
No, and no private vehicle can. Safaris run only in forest department jeeps in two windows, early morning and late afternoon, booked at the forest office. A group of twenty-four needs four to six jeeps, which fill quickly in season, so book ahead rather than turning up. Your coach parks at the entrance and the driver coordinates timings. Jeep charges are paid separately at the forest office and are not part of the vehicle hire.
Two nights is what we recommend. With nearly seven hours of driving at each end, a single night leaves you roughly a day and a half on the plateau, which is not enough given how spread out the district is. Kalpetta, Sultan Bathery and Mananthavady sit twenty-five to thirty-five kilometres apart, so where you stay affects how much you drive each day. Three nights lets you take the northern side of the district properly.
Book one seat category above your headcount so luggage and legroom stay comfortable on a long drive. Eleven or twelve people suit a 13 or 17 seater, fifteen to eighteen a 20 seater, twenty to twenty-four a 26 seater. Above twenty-eight, a 32 seater or full-size bus. Tell us your resort name at enquiry stage, because several estate properties around Vythiri have narrow access roads that a 32 seater cannot use.
The quoted fare includes the base fare with fuel charges and the driver allowance. Charged separately are toll and parking, the Kerala interstate permit, driver bata after 9:45 PM, GST, and any forest department safari charges. October to May is the practical window, with December to February the most comfortable and the plateau at its greenest after the rains. March to May is warm at the base of the route but pleasant on the plateau. The June to September monsoon brings very heavy rain, landslide risk and periodic site closures, and we would advise large groups against it. Book three to four weeks ahead for long weekends and holiday peaks.
