Places to Visit in Shirdi

Shri Sai Baba Samadhi Mandir

Shri Sai Baba Samadhi Mandir

This is the principal reason millions travel to Shirdi each year. The Samadhi Mandir houses the mortal remains of Sai Baba and is the spiritual centrepiece of the entire town. The sanctum is adorned with white Italian marble and the life-size idol of Sai Baba draws devotees in enormous numbers throughout the day. The atmosphere of devotion, the fragrance of incense, and the collective prayers create an overwhelming spiritual experience. Darshan timings are structured and the complex also includes the Dwarkamai mosque where Sai Baba lived, the Chawdi where he slept on alternate nights, and Gurusthan where he was first sighted as a young man.

Darshan timings are structured and the complex also includes the Dwarkamai mosque where Sai Baba lived, the Chawdi where he slept on alternate nights, and Gurusthan where he was first sighted as a young man.

Dwarkamai Masjid

Dwarkamai Masjid

Dwarkamai is the mosque where Sai Baba spent most of his life. It is a sacred site where he performed miracles, healed the sick, and guided thousands of seekers. The eternal dhuni, a sacred fire that has been burning since Baba's time, continues to burn here and is considered deeply holy. Devotees receive udi, sacred ash, from this dhuni as a blessing. The mosque also houses a large stone on which Sai Baba is believed to have sat and meditated. A visit to Dwarkamai is incomplete without spending a few quiet moments of reflection near the dhuni.

Shri Khandoba Mandir

Shri Khandoba Mandir

Situated at the entrance of Shirdi, Khandoba Mandir is dedicated to Lord Khandoba, the presiding deity of Shirdi. It was here that Mhalsapati, the temple priest, first greeted young Sai Baba with the words "Aao Sai", giving him the name by which the world knows him today. The temple is ancient, vibrant, and filled with energy. Visitors who arrive in Shirdi for the first time are recommended to begin their pilgrimage here as a mark of reverence. The temple sees a surge of devotees during festival days, especially Champa Shashthi.

Gurusthan

Gurusthan

Gurusthan marks the spot where Sai Baba was first seen as a young boy of about sixteen sitting under a neem tree in deep meditation. The tree still stands and is considered sacred. A small shrine exists beneath the tree which is believed to be the place where Baba's spiritual Guru rests. Devotees offer prayers here and the neem leaves from this tree are considered to have healing properties. The air around Gurusthan carries a certain stillness and many visitors report experiencing profound peace when they sit quietly in this space.

Wet N Joy Water Park, Shirdi

Wet N Joy Water Park, Shirdi

For families travelling with children or for those who wish to unwind after their pilgrimage, Wet N Joy is one of the largest water parks in Maharashtra, located just a short drive from Shirdi. It offers a variety of water rides, wave pools, lazy rivers, and adventure activities suitable for all age groups. The park is well-maintained, safe, and provides a complete recreational day out. Many cab travellers from Bangalore plan a half-day at Wet N Joy before or after completing their temple visits to make the most of the long trip.

Sai Heritage Village

Sai Heritage Village

Sai Heritage Village is a themed cultural and spiritual attraction that recreates the ambience of Shirdi as it was during Sai Baba's lifetime. Spread across a large area, it features life-size depictions of the village, replicas of Dwarkamai, Chavadi, and scenes from Baba's miraculous life. There are light and sound shows, a spiritual garden, and interactive exhibits that are particularly engaging for families and younger visitors. The village provides historical and spiritual context that deepens the understanding and appreciation of Sai Baba's life and teachings.

Nashik – Day Trip from Shirdi

Nashik – Day Trip from Shirdi

Located approximately 90 kilometres from Shirdi, Nashik is one of the four cities that host the Kumbh Mela and is considered one of the holiest cities in India. The Godavari ghats, Trimbakeshwar Shiva temple, Panchvati, and the Sita Gumpha caves make Nashik a spiritually rich day trip extension for anyone already in Shirdi. Many travellers who book a Bangalore to Shirdi outstation cab request a Nashik extension to make the long journey more worthwhile.

Ahmednagar Fort

Ahmednagar Fort

About 75 kilometres from Shirdi, Ahmednagar Fort is a massive historical structure that dates back to the fifteenth century. Built by Ahmad Nizam Shah I, the fort was also the site where Jawaharlal Nehru was imprisoned during the freedom movement. The fort is a UNESCO tentative heritage site and is an excellent destination for history enthusiasts. The surrounding city of Ahmednagar also has a well-known regimental museum. Including Ahmednagar in your itinerary adds a compelling historical dimension to your Shirdi pilgrimage trip.

Shani Shingnapur

Shani Shingnapur

Shani Shingnapur is a village located approximately 65 kilometres from Shirdi, famous for its open-air temple dedicated to Lord Shani. The village is unique because traditionally none of the homes have doors, reflecting the faith residents have in Lord Shani's protection. The main idol of Shani Dev is a self-manifested black stone that has been worshipped here for centuries. Devotees from across India visit to seek relief from the effects of Sade Sati and other astrological challenges. A visit to Shani Shingnapur pairs naturally with a Shirdi trip and is a highly recommended addition to your itinerary.

Minibus Packages from Bangalore to Shirdi

Every quote is built around your group size, night halts and itinerary, but the four structures below cover how most Bangalore groups travel to Shirdi. All packages are billed garage to garage on total kilometres and hours, with the Maharashtra permit and driver night halt shown as separate lines.

Temple Group Package

The core booking on this route, built for temple committees, bhajan mandalis, senior citizen groups and community pilgrimages of thirteen to thirty-two. The itinerary is planned around darshan timing rather than driving convenience: a Kolhapur night halt for the Mahalakshmi morning darshan, arrival at Shirdi timed to a specific aarti, and two clear days at the Shirdi end for Shani Shingnapur and Trimbakeshwar. Where the group wants the fuller circuit we route via Pandharpur and Tuljapur, which adds a day. We can also assist with Sansthan accommodation enquiries and darshan pass timing, though the booking itself remains with the group.

Family Package

For extended families making the pilgrimage together, typically thirteen to twenty-six people across three generations. The day is paced with generous halts and a driver crew comfortable adjusting around children and elderly travellers, which on a sixteen-hour drive is not a small consideration. We strongly recommend the two-day outbound with a Kolhapur halt over a straight-through run for any group with members over sixty. Five days is the configuration that works: two travelling, two at Shirdi, one returning with a halt. Enquire through our mini bus booking online process, or add a second vehicle from the outstation travel fleet.

Budget Package

For larger community groups and cost-sensitive pilgrimages where filling the vehicle is the main lever. Standard AC or non-AC mini bus, the same route, the same permit handling and the same two-driver or night-halt standard, with the saving coming from vehicle tier rather than from cutting corners on crew rest. On a two-thousand kilometre round trip the fixed costs, permit, tolls and driver charges are shared across every seat, so a full 32 seater brings the per-head figure down dramatically. Weekday departures outside festival weeks reduce the rate further.

Luxury Package

Premium mini coach with deep reclining pushback seats, extra legroom, curtains, LED interior lighting and an entertainment system suitable for bhajans, with a chauffeur crew in formal attire. Of every route we operate this is the one where the seating upgrade earns its cost most clearly, simply because of the hours involved. Suited to family pilgrimages with older members and to groups who intend to travel through the night. Larger parties can move up to our luxury Volvo bus, and smaller premium groups to the Force Urbania.

Other Popular Minibus Routes from Bangalore

Shirdi is the longest pilgrimage route we run from Bangalore. If your group is weighing alternatives or planning a second trip, these book most often.

•      Bangalore to Tirupati (250 km, 5 hours). The highest-volume pilgrimage route from the city, run as an overnight round trip with an Andhra Pradesh permit.

•      Bangalore to Pandharpur (600 km, 11 hours). The Vitthal temple, often combined with Shirdi on a single extended coach itinerary.

•      Bangalore to Kolhapur (600 km, 11 hours). The Mahalakshmi Shakti Peetha, and the natural halfway halt on this corridor.

•      Bangalore to Ganagapur and Tuljapur (550 km, 10 hours). The Dattatreya and Bhavani circuit, usually taken as a diversion on the Shirdi run.

•      Bangalore to Hampi (340 km, 7 hours). The Vijayanagara heritage circuit, on the same NH48 corridor as far as Chitradurga.

•      Bangalore to Goa (560 km, 11 hours). Multi-day coach hire with night halt charges and a Goa entry permit.

•      Bangalore to Shri Shailam (500 km, 9 hours). The Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga in Andhra Pradesh, a popular alternative for shorter pilgrimages.

•      Bangalore to Mantralayam (350 km, 7 hours). The Raghavendra Swamy mutt, frequently booked as a two-day group trip.

Billing Details for Bangalore to Shirdi Minibus Hire

Tejas Tours and Travels quotes every minibus booking in writing before you commit, with each component listed separately. There are no verbal-only prices and no charges introduced after the trip that were not on your original quote.

Advance Payment

•      Twenty percent of the total fare is payable in advance to confirm the booking. The balance is settled at the end of the trip after the advance is deducted.

What the Quoted Fare Includes

•      Base fare and fuel charges.

•      Driver allowance.

What the Quoted Fare Excludes

•      Toll charges and parking fees. These are substantial on this route, since NH48 is among the most heavily tolled corridors in the country.

•      Interstate tax and permit charges. This route crosses into Maharashtra, so the permit applies to every Shirdi trip without exception. We estimate it on the written quote.

•      Driver bata after 9:45 PM is charged extra.

•      Driver night halt charges, which apply on every night of a multi-day trip and are shown per night on the quote.

•      Final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage, not from your pickup point. On a round trip of roughly 2,000 km this is the largest single figure on the quote.

•      GST as applicable.

•      Accommodation and darshan or aarti pass charges, which remain with the group.

Insurance Note

•      Tejas Tours and Travels does not cover passengers insurance by the company. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance where they consider it necessary, and we would recommend it particularly on a route of this length.

How to Book a Mini Bus for Rent in Bangalore — Step by Step

Booking a mini bus for hire in Bangalore with Tejas Travels takes under five minutes. Follow these four steps.

Step 1 — Contact Tejas Travels

•      Call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773, or email info@tejastravels.com. Available 24 hours, 7 days a week.

•      Share your travel date and your Bangalore pickup location by area, building or landmark, such as Electronic City, Whitefield, MG Road or Koramangala.

•      Give us your destination or your full day-wise itinerary.

•      Confirm your group size and preferred mini bus tier: Standard AC, Executive Mini Coach or Luxury.

•      Tell us whether you want a two-driver straight-through run or a two-day outbound with a night halt, since this changes both the schedule and the price.

•      List any en-route temples you want included, such as Kolhapur, Pandharpur, Tuljapur or Ganagapur, as these change the routing and the number of days.

•      Mention if the group includes elderly travellers, so we can plan halt frequency accordingly.

Step 2 — Receive Your Written Quote

•      Within 2 hours of your enquiry, we send a written quote by WhatsApp or email.

•      The quote itemises the mini bus hire rate, whether per kilometre or as a flat package.

•      Driver allowance is listed separately at Rs 500 to 800 per day depending on the vehicle, with the second driver shown separately where applicable.

•      Driver night halt charges are shown per night.

•      Toll estimates are shown. On NH48 these are a significant line rather than a rounding figure.

•      The Maharashtra interstate permit is shown as its own line, since it applies to every Shirdi trip.

•      GST is shown as a separate line.

•      No verbal-only pricing. Everything is in writing before you commit.

•      Request comparison quotes for Standard versus Executive Mini Coach at the same time if you want to weigh both.

Step 3 — Confirm Your Booking and Pay Advance

•      Review the written quote and confirm by WhatsApp or phone.

•      A 20 percent advance payment confirms the booking and guarantees the specific mini bus variant on your date.

•      Payment options: UPI through Google Pay, PhonePe or Paytm; NEFT, IMPS or RTGS bank transfer; or credit and debit card via payment link.

•      Advance receipt is issued within 30 minutes.

•      Your confirmation includes driver name and mobile number, vehicle registration number, departure time, pickup location confirmation and the full billing breakdown.

•      All of it is sent to your WhatsApp or email in writing.

•      For Ram Navami, Guru Purnima and Vijayadashami, when Shirdi is at its most crowded, book several weeks ahead.

Step 4 — Your Driver and Mini Bus Arrive Early

•      Your assigned Tejas Travels driver arrives at the confirmed Bangalore pickup point 15 minutes before scheduled departure.

•      The mini bus will be clean, sanitised, fuelled and ready, with the Maharashtra permit documents on board.

•      The driver calls you 30 minutes before arrival as a courtesy.

•      During the trip, the driver handles all routing, toll payments, the Maharashtra checkpost formalities and temple parking coordination.

•      At trip end, the balance is settled after deducting the advance.

•      Any additional kilometres or hours are billed at the pre-agreed rate.

Quick Booking for Hire: WhatsApp +91 9980277773 with your group size, Bangalore pickup area, destination and travel date. Written mini bus quote in 2 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions — Bangalore to Shirdi Minibus

Roughly a thousand kilometres and sixteen to eighteen hours of driving each way via NH48. That figure is driving time only and excludes a night halt. Most temple groups take a two-day outbound with an overnight at Kolhapur, which is both safer and more useful, since it allows the Mahalakshmi morning darshan. A two-driver straight-through run is possible and we quote it separately.

No, and you should not accept a quote that says otherwise from anyone. Sixteen to eighteen hours cannot responsibly be driven by one person in one stretch. We run this route with either a two-driver crew alternating at the wheel or a scheduled overnight halt at Belagavi, Kolhapur or Satara, and the quote states which arrangement applies and what it costs.

Four days is the absolute minimum and it is tight. Five is comfortable: two travelling out with a halt, two at Shirdi covering the complex and Shani Shingnapur, one returning. Six days lets you add Trimbakeshwar and Nashik, or route the outbound via Pandharpur and Tuljapur for the fuller pilgrimage. Anyone offering a three-day Shirdi trip by road from Bangalore is not being straight with you.

Yes a permit is required, and no it is not part of the base fare. The route crosses from Karnataka into Maharashtra near Nippani, so an interstate permit applies to every Shirdi trip without exception. We arrange it in advance, carry the documents on board and show the cost as its own line on your written quote, so the figure is known before you travel rather than at the checkpost.

This is the main advantage of travelling by road rather than flying. Kolhapur Mahalakshmi, one of the Shakti Peethas, sits directly on the route and is the standard overnight halt. Pandharpur, Tuljapur and Ganagapur lie east of the highway and can be built in for roughly one extra day. A flight reaches Shirdi and nothing else; a coach reaches Shirdi having covered as much of that circuit as your schedule allows.

The Shirdi Sansthan operates online darshan and aarti passes and its own accommodation, and both bookings remain with your group since they are made in the devotees own names. What we do is plan the arrival timing around the aarti you want to attend, advise on how far ahead to book for your group size, and coordinate parking with whichever accommodation you choose. Book well in advance for any group over twenty-five.

The quoted fare includes the base fare with fuel charges and the driver allowance. Charged separately are tolls and parking, which are substantial on NH48, the Maharashtra interstate permit, driver bata after 9:45 PM, driver night halt charges for each night, GST, and your own accommodation and darshan passes. Final rental is on total kilometres and hours garage to garage, which on a 2,000 km round trip is the largest figure on the quote.

Book one seat category above your headcount, and on this route be more generous than usual, because seat pitch matters far more over eighteen hours than over four. Fifteen to eighteen people suit a 20 seater, twenty to twenty-four a 26 seater, and twenty-six to twenty-eight a 32 seater. For a full party of thirty or more, a full-size coach or a Volvo is usually the better call on a distance like this.

Tejas Tours and Travels does not cover passengers insurance by the company. Our vehicles carry statutory commercial vehicle insurance and all drivers hold valid commercial licences with route experience, and on a journey of this length we would recommend arranging personal travel cover. On cancellations, because the vehicle and crew are committed for five or six days, this route needs 10 days notice for a full refund, and 15 days for the three main festival periods. Shorter notice follows the standard tiers.

October to March, when the Deccan is cool and the long highway hours are far easier on a group. April and May are punishing on this route. The monsoon is manageable but slower. Separately, consider whether you want to travel during Ram Navami, Guru Purnima or Vijayadashami: the atmosphere is extraordinary and the crowds are enormous, so it is a deliberate choice rather than a default one. Book several weeks ahead for those dates.
