The approach roads from the village to the properties on the backwaters are short, rough diversions rather than proper access roads, and a large coach takes them at walking pace or drops at the main road. Not sensibly. Five hours each way leaves three or four hours on the ground, enough for a boat safari at best and not for a jeep slot once transfers are counted. Two nights and three days is what we recommend, giving two full safari days. One night works if you accept one afternoon and one morning session. Groups often extend instead by adding Coorg via Kutta or Mysuru on the return.
Tejas Tours and Travels does not cover passenger insurance, and passengers are advised to arrange their own cover. The standard driver allowance is included in the quoted fare, but an additional driver bata applies after 9.45 pm. On this route it comes up if a group leaves Kabini after the afternoon safari rather than in the morning, which puts arrival in Bengaluru late. Departing after breakfast on the last day avoids it.
