Kukke Subramanya Temple
The principal shrine, where Subramanya is worshipped together with Vasuki, and the foremost Naga kshetra in South India. Pilgrims traditionally bathe in the Kumaradhara before darshan, and the sequence includes a circumambulation past the Garuda pillar, which tradition holds screens devotees from the venom of the serpent above. Visit in the morning. The temple keeps its own schedule with a midday break, seva timings run to their own list, and dress conventions apply - confirm anything your trip depends on close to your date.

Bangalore
Departure Point
Your journey to Ooty begins from Bangalore, the gateway to South India's most beloved hill stations. Pick-up is available from any part of the city — Koramangala, Electronic City, Whitefield, Hebbal, Yeshwanthpur, Marathahalli, or Majestic. The most common route out of Bangalore takes you onto NH275, the six-lane Mysore Expressway, which is one of the smoothest and best-maintained national highways in Karnataka. An early departure between 5 AM and 6 AM is strongly advised to clear Bangalore city limits before peak traffic begins. The first 50 km on the expressway are fast, comfortable, and lightly trafficked in the early hours, setting a pleasant tone for the journey ahead. Our drivers are experienced in choosing the optimal departure window and route based on real-time traffic conditions, ensuring that the first stretch of your Bangalore to Ooty road trip is efficient, calm, and enjoyable from the very first kilometre.

Yediyur
Siddhalingeshwara Temple Town
The route leaves Bangalore northwest onto NH 75, and the Nelamangala junction is the only stretch that depends on timing rather than road - our drivers aim to be past it before 7:00 AM, since four corridors diverge there and weekend traffic builds quickly. Kunigal has one of the oldest stud farms in India, associated with Tipu Sultan. Yediyur, twenty-five kilometres on, has a lakeside Siddhalingeshwara temple and the best cluster of highway restaurants on this road - worth using properly, since the options thin considerably after Hassan and there is very little on the ghat.

Sakleshpur
Coffee Hill Town of the Hassan Ghats
Good four-lane highway as the landscape shifts into plantation country. Channarayapatna is the junction for Shravanabelagola, twelve kilometres off the highway, and Hassan is the base for Belur and Halebidu - both worth building in deliberately if you have a spare half day, and both easy to skip on a ritual booking where the date governs everything. Sakleshpur sits where the coffee and cardamom estates begin and the road starts to climb. It is the last town of any size before the ghat and the natural place to fuel and eat if you did not stop at Yediyur.

Gundya
Ghat Viewpoint of the Western Ghats
The Shiradi ghat drops from Sakleshpur toward the coast through dense forest, and long stretches have been rebuilt in concrete because the monsoon used to take the surface out annually. It is our default crossing when it is in good order, and our drivers check the position before departure rather than at the barrier - in a bad monsoon it has been restricted or closed, and the alternatives add hours. The Bisle viewpoint lies off this road through the Bisle reserve forest, and if the day allows it is worth the detour - three ranges of the Western Ghats visible from a single platform above unbroken forest, with nothing else there at all.

Kukke Subramanya
Naga Kshetra of the South
The last twenty-five kilometres turn south off the coastal road and run through forest into the valley of the Kumaradhara, with the country dense and green and Kumara Parvatha rising ahead - the peak is visible from some distance out and it dominates the approach. Kukke is a temple town in the full sense: the shrine, the river below it, pilgrim accommodation, seva counters and shops, arranged in a compact grid with hills close on every side. Vehicle access near the temple is managed and drops are at designated points, particularly during Champa Shashti and on ritual days. Our driver takes you to the confirmed address and assists with luggage. A 6:00 AM departure puts most travellers in Kukke by around 12:30 PM - which on a Sarpa Samskara booking means the afternoon before your ceremony, which is exactly where you want to be.

Minibus Packages for the Bangalore to Kukke Subrahmanya Route
Family and Pooja Package
The core booking, and the one this route is really built around. An extended family travelling for Sarpa Samskara, Ashlesha Bali or a Naga Prathishta, arriving the evening before, at the Kumaradhara ghat before dawn, and occupied with the temple for most of the following day. We plan the departure backwards from the pooja timing rather than forwards from a convenient hour, and the driver stays with the group throughout without pressure on the schedule. Tell us at enquiry if the party includes elderly members — the ghat steps and the Biladwara passage are both awkward, and we will plan drop points to shorten the walking. Most groups add Dharmasthala on the return, and we quote the whole thing as one itinerary.
Corporate Package
Less obvious here than on a business corridor, but a real category: employee-interest pilgrimage groups and annual staff trips organised by Bangalore companies, which move in numbers on this route around Champa Shashti. The package includes GST invoicing, a Proforma Invoice for PO-based approval, a named driver for the full trip, and consolidated monthly billing for registered accounts. Where a company moves more than twenty-four people we run a corporate minibus bangalore convoy with one point of contact and a common schedule. Our corporate travels desk handles the arrangement end to end.
Budget Package
For groups where cost per head decides the trip — temple associations, community groups and college parties, all of which travel this corridor steadily. Non-AC 12 to 17 seater mini buses, point to point, clean vehicle, verified driver, no frills. The mini bus rate per km in bangalore for the non-AC tier is our lowest, and across a 570 kilometre round trip the saving across a full group is real. Dakshina Kannada is humid rather than scorching and the Ghats stay cool, so non-AC works here for most of the year, though the coastal stretch in April and May is uncomfortable and we will say so rather than take the booking quietly. The budget tier is about vehicle specification, never about maintenance or driver vetting.
Luxury and Executive Package
Executive mini coach configuration with fewer, wider push-back seats, extra legroom, better sound insulation and premium interiors. On a route with a sustained ghat descent and a pre-dawn start the following morning, arriving rested is a functional benefit, and this is the tier most often chosen where the group spans three generations. For a premium alternative in a smaller size band, our luxury urbania rental bangalore option in 13 to 17 seater configuration handles the Bisle Ghat road particularly well, and for parties under eight the cab rental bangalore fleet runs Innova Crysta and Fortuner on the same route.
Our Minibus Fleet in Bangalore
Our ac minibus rental bangalore fleet covers 12, 14, 17, 20 and 24 seater configurations. We run a full range of group vehicles from the same Bangalore base, so if your headcount changes after booking we can usually move you up or down a category without restarting the process.
• Mini bus — 12 to 24 seater, AC and non-AC, the core vehicle for this route
• Tempo traveller — 8 to 18 seater, for smaller family groups on the same circuit
• Force Urbania — 13 to 17 seater luxury van
• Bus — 27 to 50 seater, including Volvo and Benz coaches, fine on NH75 but not on the Bisle Ghat road
• Cars — 4 to 7 seater, from Etios, Dzire, Innova, Innova Crysta and Innova Hycross through Fortuner and Commuter, up to Corolla Altis, Camry, Audi A6, Audi Q7, BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz E Class, Mercedes-Benz S Class and Rolls-Royce Ghost
Tejas Tours and Travels does not operate sleeper bus services. All our vehicles are seated configuration with push-back seats. Groups sometimes ask about an overnight departure to reach Kukke by morning — on this route we advise against it, because the Shiradi descent is not a stretch to drive tired or in the dark, and a family arriving straight off an overnight drive is in no condition for a dawn ritual bath.
Billing Details — What Is Included and What Is Extra
We quote in writing before you book and the quote itemises everything, so there are no surprises at trip end. A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms your booking.
Included in the Quoted Fare
• Base fare and fuel charges
• Driver allowance
Not Included — Billed Separately at Actuals
• Toll charges and parking fees
• Interstate tax, where a route crosses a state border
• Additional driver bata after 9:45 PM
• GST as applicable
• Final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage
The garage-to-garage basis is standard across the organised group transport industry in Bangalore. The meter starts when the vehicle leaves our garage for your pickup point and ends when it returns. We factor this into the written quote, so the number you approve is the number you pay. Three notes for this route. There is no interstate tax, since the journey stays within Karnataka throughout. Driver night halt charges apply on multi-day hire and are shown separately, and they will apply here, because a pooja booking effectively requires at least one night at Kukke. And if Shiradi Ghat is closed and the vehicle is routed via Madikeri and Sullia, the additional kilometres are billed at the same agreed per-kilometre rate — we tell you before departure rather than after. Temple seva charges, accommodation and any pooja fees are paid directly by you to the temple and are not part of the vehicle quote.
Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if required. Vehicle insurance and full statutory driver and vehicle compliance are maintained across the fleet.

What Our Customers Say About Our Minibus Services in Bangalore
Why Choose Tejas Tours and Travels?
Frequently Asked Questions — Bangalore to kukke subrahmanya Minibus
The bangalore to kukke subramanya distance is approximately 285 kilometres via NH75 through Hassan and Sakleshpur, descending the Shiradi Ghat to Gundya and then turning south. Allow 6 hours to 7 hours 30 minutes including halts, since the last third is ghat and state road rather than highway. If Shiradi is closed, the Mysore, Madikeri and Sullia route covers about 330 kilometres and takes closer to eight hours. Leaving Bangalore between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM clears Peenya and Nelamangala before they congest.
Technically yes, but not if you are performing a pooja, which is why almost nobody does. Sarpa Samskara and most booked sevas require the group to be present the previous evening and at the Kumaradhara ghat before dawn, which makes at least one night essential. Even for a straightforward darshan, thirteen to fifteen hours of driving with a ghat descent in each direction is a poor trade. Two nights is the sensible minimum, and three lets you add Dharmasthala comfortably.
Tell us the pooja date and reporting time at enquiry and we plan the departure backwards from it. Typically that means leaving Bangalore in the morning of the previous day, reaching Kukke by early evening, and having the vehicle available before dawn the next morning for the ghat bath. The driver then stays with the group through the day, since the temple sets the pace and it rarely finishes when anyone expects. Seva booking, accommodation and pooja charges are arranged by you directly with the temple, which operates its own online system — book those well before you fix the vehicle.
It is the main Bengaluru–Mangaluru highway and is maintained as such, but it is genuinely susceptible to monsoon landslides and has been shut for extended repair periods more than once. We check its status before every departure. If it is closed we route via Charmadi Ghat or via Mysore, Madikeri and Sullia, and we tell you before you leave rather than after — the additional kilometres are billed at the same agreed per-kilometre rate. Ghat closures also fall under the force majeure clause in our cancellation policy.
Pricing starts from around Rs 18,520. The quoted fare includes base fare, fuel charges and driver allowance. Charged separately at actuals are toll and parking, additional driver bata after 9:45 PM, driver night halt charges, and GST. There is no interstate tax, since the route stays within Karnataka. Temple seva, pooja and accommodation charges are paid directly by you and are not part of the vehicle quote. Final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage.
Dharmasthala, fifty-five kilometres away, is added by almost every group and is best planned as part of the same trip rather than a separate one. Beyond that, Uppinangady and Mangaluru lie thirty and a hundred kilometres north, Udupi about a hundred and forty, and Kollur beyond that on a five-day circuit. On the return leg, Sakleshpur’s Manjarabad Fort and the Hoysala temples at Belur, Halebidu and Shravanabelagola all sit close to the road. Share your day-wise plan at enquiry and we quote the full circuit as one number.
October to February gives the most comfortable weather and the safest ghat driving. Champa Shashti in November or December is the temple’s largest festival and worth seeing, but the village fills entirely, accommodation goes months ahead and parking moves well out from the temple. Ashlesha nakshatra dates each month are busy for the same reason. The monsoon from June to September is beautiful in the Ghats and the Kumaradhara runs strong, but it carries real landslide risk on Shiradi, so we plan those bookings conservatively and keep alternatives open.
Our minibus hire bangalore fleet covers 12, 14, 17, 20 and 24 seater configurations in AC and non-AC. Under twelve passengers, an 8 to 18 seater tempo traveller is usually more economical. A 27 to 50 seater coach can reach Kukke on NH75 without difficulty, but it cannot take the Bisle Ghat road and is awkward on the smaller connecting roads around the temple and towards Dharmasthala, so for this circuit we generally recommend a mini bus.
Largely yes, with two things to plan for. The Kumaradhara ghat steps are wet and can be slippery, and the Biladwara passage is a low, narrow cave that some people find uncomfortable. Neither is unmanageable, but both are worth knowing before you arrive. Tell us at enquiry and we will plan the drop point to shorten the walking, and during festival periods we will factor in that the parking area moves further out. The Kumara Parvatha trek, by contrast, is a serious two-day climb and should not be considered part of a family temple trip.
Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if they wish to be covered. All vehicles carry valid insurance and full statutory compliance, and every driver is verified with a commercial licence and route experience, but personal passenger cover is not part of the booking. To book, call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773 or email info@tejastravels.com with your travel date, Bangalore pickup location, group size, day-wise itinerary and pooja timing if applicable. A written itemised quote follows within 2 hours; confirm it, pay the 20 percent advance, and you receive driver details, vehicle registration and the full billing breakdown in writing. Our mini bus booking online and WhatsApp enquiry lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
