Adi Shakthi Annapoorneshwari Temple
The temple stands on the Bhadra with hills on every side, and the goddess is depicted standing on a lotus with a vessel of food and a ladle. The present structure was substantially rebuilt in the early 1970s and the complex now includes dining halls, accommodation blocks and a large hall, all organised around the annadana. Visit for a meal as well as darshan - they are part of the same thing here. Timings for both worship and the sittings run to the temple schedule; confirm for your date, and dress traditionally.

Bangalore
Departure Point
Your journey to Ooty begins from Bangalore, the gateway to South India's most beloved hill stations. Pick-up is available from any part of the city — Koramangala, Electronic City, Whitefield, Hebbal, Yeshwanthpur, Marathahalli, or Majestic. The most common route out of Bangalore takes you onto NH275, the six-lane Mysore Expressway, which is one of the smoothest and best-maintained national highways in Karnataka. An early departure between 5 AM and 6 AM is strongly advised to clear Bangalore city limits before peak traffic begins. The first 50 km on the expressway are fast, comfortable, and lightly trafficked in the early hours, setting a pleasant tone for the journey ahead. Our drivers are experienced in choosing the optimal departure window and route based on real-time traffic conditions, ensuring that the first stretch of your Bangalore to Ooty road trip is efficient, calm, and enjoyable from the very first kilometre.

Hassan
Base of the Hoysala Belt
The route leaves Bangalore northwest onto NH 75, and the Nelamangala junction is the only part of the day that depends on timing rather than road - our drivers aim to be past it before 7:00 AM, since four highway corridors diverge there and weekend traffic builds fast. Beyond it the highway opens up. Kunigal has one of the oldest stud farms in India; Yediyur, twenty-five kilometres on, has a lakeside Siddhalingeshwara temple and the best breakfast cluster on this road, which is worth using properly since options thin later. Channarayapatna is the Shravanabelagola junction, and Hassan is the base of the Hoysala circuit.

Chikmagalur
Coffee Cradle of India
Belur comes up thirty-five kilometres beyond Hassan and is the best short stop on this route - the Chennakeshava temple, commissioned in 1117 and worked on for over a century, carries bracket figures among the finest sculpture in India, and it was inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage in 2023. Ninety minutes covers it properly. Chikmagalur follows and the country changes - the Baba Budan hills rise to the north and coffee replaces everything else. Indian coffee began on that hill, where Baba Budan is said to have planted seven seeds carried back from Yemen. Beyond Chikmagalur the road turns west into the Malnad proper and the driving changes with it.

Kalasa
Temple Town on the Bhadra
A hundred and ten kilometres west through the heart of the Malnad, and this is where the average speed drops. The road winds continuously through estate and forest, climbing and dropping, with coffee under shade trees on both sides and very little open ground. Mudigere is a working coffee town; Kottigehara, beyond it, is where the Charmadi ghat road turns west toward Mangalore down one of the more dramatic descents in Karnataka. Kalasa sits on the Bhadra with the Kalaseshwara temple above the river, one of the Pancha Kshetras of this region and a quiet place by comparison with what follows. It has more accommodation than Horanadu and is where a good number of groups actually stay.

Horanadu
Annadana Kshetra of the Malnad
Ten kilometres of winding road through estate country along the Bhadra, and it takes twenty minutes rather than the ten the distance suggests. The hills close in and the last stretch runs through forest and coffee with the river below. Horanadu is very small - the temple complex is most of it, with dining halls, accommodation blocks and a handful of shops around the gate. That scale is part of the character: this is a temple town in the literal sense rather than a town with a temple in it. Accommodation is largely run by the trust and booked directly with them. Our driver takes you to the confirmed address and assists with luggage. A 6:00 AM departure puts most travellers in Horanadu by around 1:30 PM, which on most days catches an afternoon sitting.

Minibus Packages for the Bangalore to Horanadu Route
Corporate Package
Two uses on this corridor. The estate resorts around Mudigere, Kottigehara and Chikmagalur sit directly on this route and have become a standard offsite destination for Bangalore companies, and a growing number of employers organise annual temple trips for staff that follow this circuit. Includes GST invoicing, a Proforma Invoice for PO-based approval, a named driver for the full multi-day trip and consolidated monthly billing for registered accounts. The same corporate minibus bangalore stays with your team across Kalasa, Horanadu, Sringeri and any coastal extension, with duty slips signed daily and reconciled against the final invoice. Our corporate travels desk manages it end to end.
Family and Pilgrimage Package
The dominant booking here. Extended families and temple associations running the Kalasa, Horanadu, Sringeri, Kollur and Udupi circuit across four to six days, frequently with a fixed order of darshan. The package is planned around temple sessions rather than driving times, with the vehicle waiting through each visit and a driver who knows that the Annapoorneshwari darshan and the free meal service both run to their own schedule. Luggage capacity is the practical advantage over a week, since a 20 seater carries what four or five cabs would struggle with. Groups travelling during Navaratri should book well ahead, when Horanadu fills completely.
Budget Package
For groups where cost per head decides the booking, which on this route usually means college trips, school heritage tours combining Belur, Halebidu and Shravanabelagola, and association travel funded by contribution. Non-AC 12 to 17 seater mini buses, point to point, clean vehicles and verified drivers. Non-AC is comfortable here for most of the year, since the temperature falls steadily from Belur onwards and the Malnad is cool by late afternoon. The mini bus rate per km in bangalore for the non-AC tier is our lowest. The budget tier is about vehicle specification only, never about maintenance standards, driver vetting or statutory compliance.
Luxury and Executive Package
Executive mini coach configuration with fewer, wider push-back seats, additional legroom, better sound insulation and premium interiors. The suspension difference is felt most on the two-lane sections after Belur and on the narrow run from Kottigehara to Kalasa. Suited to senior management travel and milestone family occasions such as a family deity visit. For a step further, our luxury urbania rental bangalore option in 13 to 17 seater configuration is a premium alternative on the same route and is easier again on the narrow Ambatheertha and Kudremukh approaches.
Our Minibus Fleet in Bangalore
Our ac minibus rental bangalore fleet covers 12, 14, 17, 20 and 24 seater configurations. We run the full range of group vehicles from the same Bangalore base, so if your headcount changes after booking we can usually move you up or down a category without restarting the process.
• Mini bus — 12 to 24 seater, AC and non-AC, the core vehicle for this route
• Tempo traveller — 8 to 18 seater, for smaller groups on the same corridor
• Bus — 27 to 50 seater, including Volvo and Benz coaches for large temple associations
• Force Urbania — 13 to 17 seater luxury van
• Cars — 4 to 7 seater, from Etios, Dzire, Innova and Commuter through Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross and Fortuner, up to Corolla Altis, Camry, Audi A6, Audi Q7, BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz E Class, Mercedes-Benz S Class and Rolls-Royce Ghost
Tejas Tours and Travels does not operate sleeper bus services. Every vehicle we run is seated configuration with push-back seats. On this route the drive is comfortably completed in daylight with an early start, and we would not take a group through the Kottigehara to Kalasa section after dark. Where a group prefers to split the journey we plan a hotel halt at Hassan or Chikmagalur.
Billing Details — What Is Included and What Is Extra
We quote in writing before you book and the quote itemises everything, so there are no surprises at trip end. A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms your booking.
Included in the Quoted Fare
• Base fare and fuel charges
• Driver allowance
Not Included — Billed Separately at Actuals
• Toll charges and parking fees
• Interstate tax where applicable. The Horanadu route stays within Karnataka, so no interstate permit arises unless your itinerary extends beyond the state
• Additional driver bata after 9:45 PM
• GST as applicable
• Final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage
The garage-to-garage basis is standard across the organised group transport industry in Bangalore. The meter starts when the vehicle leaves our garage for your pickup point and ends when it returns. We factor this into the written quote, so the number you approve is the number you pay.
Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if required. Vehicle insurance and full statutory driver and vehicle compliance are maintained across the fleet.

What Our Customers Say About Our Minibus Services in Bangalore
Why Choose Tejas Tours and Travels?
Frequently Asked Questions — Bangalore to Horanadu Minibus
The bangalore to horanadu distance is approximately 320 kilometres via Nelamangala, Kunigal, Channarayapatna, Hassan, Belur, Mudigere, Kottigehara and Kalasa, which comes to seven and a half to eight and a half hours including halts. The alternative through Tumkur, Arsikere, Kadur and Chikmagalur covers a similar distance and suits itineraries including Chikmagalur town. We recommend a 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM departure, both to clear Nelamangala before Tumkur Road fills and to complete the narrow Kottigehara to Kalasa stretch in good light.
No. The route stays entirely within Karnataka, so no interstate permit or border tax applies, which makes the billing on this corridor simpler and cheaper than our Kerala and Tamil Nadu routes. Permits only become relevant if your itinerary extends beyond the state. Tolls and parking are still billed at actuals as on every route.
Pricing starts from Rs 24,280. The quoted fare includes base fare, fuel charges and driver allowance. Charged separately at actuals are toll and parking, additional driver bata after 9:45 PM, and GST. There is no interstate permit on this route. The final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage, and every charge appears as a line item in the written quote you receive within 2 hours.
A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms your booking and guarantees the specific mini bus variant on your travel date. The advance must be paid digitally by UPI, bank transfer or card. A receipt is issued within 30 minutes and the balance is settled at trip end after deducting the advance. For Navaratri and other festival dates a higher advance may be required.
Traditional attire is expected at the Annapoorneshwari temple, so tell your group in advance rather than leaving it to be discovered at the gate. The free meal service is genuine and is central to how the temple understands itself, since the deity is the goddess of food. It runs to fixed timings, as does darshan, with a midday break. Share your arrival plan when you book and we will time the day so the group makes both the darshan session and the meal.
Yes, and it is how most groups book this route. The same vehicle and driver stay with you throughout, covering Kalasa, Horanadu, Ambatheertha, Sringeri and then the coastal leg through Kollur and Udupi, with Belur and Shravanabelagola on either leg. A mini bus reaches everything on a normal itinerary, including the roads a full-size coach cannot manage. Multi-day hire is billed on total kilometres and hours with a per-day minimum plus driver allowance. Share your day-wise itinerary and any fixed darshan timings and we quote the whole trip as one number.
Two nights covers Kalasa, Horanadu and Ambatheertha without rushing, with a Kudremukh drive on the second day. Three nights lets you add Sringeri properly. Groups doing the full circuit through Kollur Mookambika and Udupi should plan five nights, and those returning via Dharmasthala and Kukke Subramanya down the Charmadi ghat, six. Belur and Shravanabelagola fit on the outbound or return leg without costing a separate day.
Our minibus hire bangalore fleet covers 12, 14, 17, 20 and 24 seater configurations in AC and non-AC. Under twelve passengers, an 8 to 18 seater tempo traveller is usually more economical. A 27 to 50 seater coach can reach Horanadu, but it will be slow from Mudigere onwards and cannot manage the narrow roads to Ambatheertha, Hanuman Gundi or the Kudremukh interior, which means hiring a second vehicle locally. For this circuit a 24 seater is the largest vehicle that does the whole itinerary on its own.
October to May is the reliable window, with October to January the most pleasant. The Malnad monsoon between June and September is genuinely heavy. The main road to Horanadu stays open, but the estate roads deteriorate, the Charmadi ghat sees landslide closures and the Kudremukh trails shut. Groups travelling in those months should keep to the main temple route, and our force majeure terms cover a full refund if roads close.
Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if they wish to be covered. All vehicles carry valid insurance and full statutory compliance, and every driver is verified with a commercial licence and route experience, but personal passenger cover is not part of the booking. To book, call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773 or email info@tejastravels.com with your travel date, Bangalore pickup location, group size and day-wise itinerary. A written itemised quote follows within 2 hours; confirm it, pay the 20 percent advance, and you receive driver details, vehicle registration and the full billing breakdown in writing. Our mini bus booking online and WhatsApp enquiry lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
