Places to Visit in Dandeli

Kali River Rafting and Water Sports

Kali River Rafting and Water Sports

The rafting stretch runs a few kilometres of the Kali with rapids that vary from gentle to moderately lively depending on the release from Supa, and it is what built Dandeli reputation. Kayaking, coracle rides, river crossing and natural swimming pools operate alongside it and are less dependent on flow. Visit between October and May; the monsoon months are closed for safety. Book with the camp or operator directly and confirm the water position for your dates - we arrange the transport and the timing, not the run.

Book with the camp or operator directly and confirm the water position for your dates - we arrange the transport and the timing, not the run.

Kali Tiger Reserve

Kali Tiger Reserve

Formerly Dandeli-Anshi, the reserve covers a very large stretch of moist deciduous and semi-evergreen forest along the river, with tiger, leopard, elephant, gaur, sloth bear and dhole, and a hornbill population that makes it one of the better birding destinations in the Western Ghats. Safaris are run by the forest department with limited numbers and booked with them. Visit early morning or late afternoon between November and March. Sightings of the larger mammals are never guaranteed and the forest itself is the point.

Syntheri Rocks

Syntheri Rocks

Around thirty-five kilometres from Dandeli inside the reserve, Syntheri is a single enormous granite monolith rising some three hundred feet, with the Kaneri river running at its base through a gorge it has cut over a very long time - there are rock bee colonies on the face and a flight of steps down to the water. Visit in the morning. Access is through the forest department with entry timings and a check post, and it closes at a fixed hour; the road in is rough in places and the last stretch is not one to attempt after rain.

Kavala Caves

Kavala Caves

Around twenty-five kilometres away, the Kavala caves are a limestone system reached by a trek of a few kilometres through forest and then a steep descent - inside is a naturally formed Shivalinga that draws pilgrims, particularly around Shivaratri. It is a genuine cave with narrow sections and low ceilings, not a walkway. Visit between October and March with the forest department permission that access requires; it is closed in the monsoon and the descent is not suitable for anyone with mobility difficulty or a strong dislike of enclosed spaces.

Supa Dam and Sykes Point

Supa Dam and Sykes Point

The Supa dam upstream holds back the Kali and creates a large backwater reservoir among forested hills - the release from it is what governs the rafting downstream, and the reservoir itself is a quiet and rather beautiful thing to look at. Sykes Point, nearby, gives a long view over the Kali valley and the forest running out to the horizon. Visit Sykes Point in the late afternoon. Both are easy half days and both are what people do on a Dandeli trip when the water sports are not running.

Ulavi and Moulangi

Ulavi and Moulangi

Ulavi, around forty kilometres into the forest, holds the shrine of Channabasavanna, nephew of Basavanna and a central figure of the Lingayat tradition, who is said to have come here after the upheaval at Kalyana - it is a significant pilgrimage site in a genuinely remote setting and the annual jatra draws very large numbers. Moulangi eco park, closer to town, has a nature trail and river frontage. Visit Ulavi for the setting as much as the shrine; the road in runs through deep forest and it is one of the more atmospheric drives in the district.

Minibus Packages for the Bangalore to Dandeli Route

Corporate Package

Dandeli is one of the two or three most requested offsite destinations for Bangalore technology companies, and for good reason: it is far enough to feel like a real break, the activities are naturally team-based, and resort capacity is built for groups. This package includes GST invoicing, a Proforma Invoice for PO-based approval, a named driver for the full trip, and consolidated monthly billing for registered accounts. The same corporate minibus bangalore stays with your team for the river, the safari and the viewpoints, with duty slips signed daily and reconciled against the final invoice. For a corporate offsite dandeli booking of forty or more we run multiple vehicles in convoy with a single point of coordination. Our corporate travels bangalore desk manages the arrangement end to end.

Family Package

Usually two or three families travelling together, which is the group size Dandeli suits best. The package is built around the reality that a mixed-age party will not all raft: the itinerary is planned so that the non-rafting members have the vehicle and the driver available rather than being stranded at the resort. Seating is allocated with children and older travellers in mind on a nine-hour drive, and we plan the return leg with a Chitradurga or Davanagere break rather than running it straight through, which makes the second day far more pleasant.

Budget Package

For groups where cost per head decides the booking, which on this route means college batches, friend groups and community trips. Non-AC and standard AC 12 to 17 seater mini buses, clean vehicle, verified driver, no frills. The mini bus rate per km in bangalore for this tier is our lowest, and across a 470 kilometre one-way run the saving across a full group is the largest of any route we operate. Note that the AC matters less here than on our North Karnataka temple routes, since Dandeli itself is forested and cool, but the first four hundred kilometres cross open Deccan plain — so for travel between March and June we would still steer you to the AC tier. Our school transportation services division handles the larger college and school bookings on this corridor.

Luxury Package

Executive mini coach configuration with fewer, wider push-back seats, extra legroom, better sound insulation and premium interiors, in the 20 and 24 seater range. On the longest drive we operate, that is a substantive difference rather than a cosmetic one. Suited to senior management offsites, milestone family trips and any group that would rather arrive fresh. Bear in mind the resort access point above: for the largest vehicles, confirm the approach road before booking. For a premium alternative in a smaller seat count, our luxury urbania rental bangalore option in 8 to 16 seater configuration runs the same route.

Our Minibus Fleet in Bangalore

Our ac minibus rental bangalore fleet covers 12, 14, 17, 20 and 24 seater configurations. We run a full range of group vehicles from the same Bangalore base, so if your headcount changes after booking we can usually move you up or down a category without restarting the process.

•             Mini bus — 12 to 24 seater, AC and non-AC, the core vehicle for this route

•             Tempo traveller — 8 to 18 seater, for smaller groups and for resorts with tight approach roads

•             Force Urbania — 8 to 16 seater luxury van

•             Bus — 27 to 50 seater, including Volvo and Benz coaches for large corporate movements

•             Cars — 4 to 7 seater, from Etios, Dzire, Innova, Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross and Fortuner through Corolla Altis, Camry, Audi A6, Audi Q7, BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz E Class, Mercedes-Benz S Class and Rolls-Royce Ghost

Tejas Tours and Travels does not operate sleeper bus services. All our vehicles are seated configuration with push-back seats. On this route we run the drive in daylight with an early start rather than overnight, which matters more here than elsewhere: the last fifty kilometres pass through protected forest where night movement is restricted, and arriving in daylight means your driver can find a resort approach road he has not used before.

Billing Details — What Is Included and What Is Extra

We quote in writing before you book and the quote itemises everything, so there are no surprises at trip end. A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms your booking.

Included in the Quoted Fare

•             Base fare and fuel charges

•             Driver allowance

Not Included — Billed Separately at Actuals

•             Toll charges and parking fees

•             Interstate tax, where a route crosses a state border

•             Additional driver bata after 9:45 PM

•             GST as applicable

•             Final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage

On the Bangalore to Dandeli route specifically, no interstate tax applies, because the journey stays inside Karnataka throughout. Tolls are on the higher side because NH48 is a tolled four-lane corridor for most of the first four hundred kilometres, and we estimate them in the written quote rather than leaving them to trip end. Rafting fees, safari permits, forest entry charges and resort activity costs are paid directly by passengers or through your resort and form no part of the vehicle quote.

The garage-to-garage basis is standard across the organised group transport industry in Bangalore. The meter starts when the vehicle leaves our garage for your pickup point and ends when it returns. We build this into the written quote, so the number you approve is the number you pay.

Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if required, and note that adventure activities booked through resorts and operators carry their own terms and waivers. Vehicle insurance and full statutory driver and vehicle compliance are maintained across the fleet.

How to Book a Mini Bus for Rent in Bangalore — Step by Step

Booking a mini bus for hire in Bangalore with Tejas Travels takes under five minutes. Follow these four steps.

Step 1 — Contact Tejas Travels

•             Call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773, or email info@tejastravels.com. Available 24 hours, 7 days a week.

•             Share your travel date.

•             Share your Bangalore pickup location — area, building or landmark such as Electronic City, Whitefield, MG Road or Koramangala.

•             Share your destination or full itinerary.

•             Share your group size.

•             Share your preferred mini bus tier: Standard AC, Executive Mini Coach or Luxury.

•             Share the name of your Dandeli resort, so we can check the approach road and size the vehicle to it.

•             For corporate bookings from Bangalore tech parks, share your GST number and preferred invoicing format. For college bookings, tell us what documentation your accounts office needs.

•             For multi-day itineraries extending to Gokarna, Karwar or Yellapur, share the full day-wise plan so we can allocate a driver with route experience.

Step 2 — Receive Your Written Quote

•             Within 2 hours of your enquiry, Tejas Travels sends a written quote via WhatsApp or email.

•             The quote itemises every charge:

•             Mini bus hire rate — per kilometre or flat local package

•             Driver allowance — Rs 500 to Rs 800 per day depending on vehicle

•             Toll estimates, which are on the higher side on this route because NH48 is tolled for most of its length

•             Parking estimates

•             Interstate permit where applicable — not required for Dandeli, since the route stays within Karnataka

•             GST

•             No verbal-only pricing. Everything is in writing before you commit.

•             Rafting, safari and forest entry charges are not part of the vehicle quote and are paid directly by passengers or through your resort.

•             For Bangalore IT sector corporate clients, a Proforma Invoice is available at this stage for PO-based approval.

•             Request comparison quotes for Standard versus Executive Mini Coach at the same time.

Step 3 — Confirm Your Booking and Pay Advance

•             Review the written quote and confirm via WhatsApp or phone.

•             A 20 percent advance payment of the total fare confirms the booking and guarantees the specific mini bus variant on your date.

•             Payment options: UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), NEFT, IMPS or RTGS bank transfer, or credit and debit card via payment link.

•             Advance receipt issued within 30 minutes.

•             Your confirmation includes:

•             Driver name and mobile number

•             Vehicle registration number

•             Departure time

•             Pickup location confirmation

•             Full billing breakdown — all sent to WhatsApp or email in writing

•             Confirm your rafting and safari availability with the resort or operator before you finalise the vehicle date, since river activities are seasonal and dam-dependent.

•             For peak dates — New Year, Diwali, Dasara, long IT weekends and the October to February season — book well ahead.

Step 4 — Your Driver and Mini Bus Arrive Early

•             Your assigned Tejas Travels driver arrives at the confirmed Bangalore pickup point 15 minutes before scheduled departure.

•             The mini bus will be clean, sanitised, fuelled and ready.

•             The driver calls you 30 minutes before arrival as a courtesy.

•             During the trip the driver handles all routing, toll payments, NH48 exits and the forest road approach at the far end, and plans around any night movement restrictions on reserve roads.

•             Once you arrive, the vehicle stays with your group for the river, the safari gates and the viewpoints.

•             At trip end the balance is settled after deducting the advance.

•             Any additional kilometres or hours are billed at the pre-agreed rate.

Quick booking: WhatsApp +91 9980277773 with your group size, Bangalore pickup area, resort name and travel date. Written mini bus quote in 2 hours.

A 20 percent advance confirms your booking and guarantees vehicle availability. For multi-day itineraries combining Dandeli with Gokarna or Karwar during peak dates, a higher advance may be required.

Tejas Travels maintains a fair, transparent and tiered cancellation policy. All terms are communicated in writing at booking confirmation. There are no hidden conditions.

Special Cancellation Conditions

•             Multi-day outstation hire including Dandeli, Gokarna, Karwar and Yellapur circuits — minimum 7-day notice for a full refund on overnight or multi-day mini bus hire from Bangalore.

•             Activity cancellation by the operator — where rafting or safari is cancelled by the resort, operator or forest department, the vehicle booking stands on its own terms. We will accommodate a date change with more than 24 hours notice at no penalty, subject to availability.

•             Corporate and college bookings — where an offsite or study tour is cancelled by the organisation, we accept written notice from the department and apply the standard tiers from the date that notice is received.

•             Peak dates — New Year, Diwali, Dasara and Bangalore long weekends require a minimum 48-hour notice for a full refund. Less than 24 hours is non-refundable.

•             Force majeure — Bangalore or Uttara Kannada bandhs, monsoon road closures and forest department restrictions attract a 100 percent refund within 2 working days regardless of notice period.

To cancel, call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773 with your booking reference. Cancellation confirmation follows within 2 hours, and the refund goes to your original payment method within the stated timelines.

Refund Policy — Mini Bus for Rent in Bangalore

All refunds are processed to the original payment instrument. No cash refund is issued unless the advance was paid in cash.

•             Cancellation 72 or more hours before departure — 100 percent of the advance paid, processed within 5 to 7 working days to the original payment instrument.

Frequently Asked Questions — Bangalore to Dandeli Minibus

The bangalore to dandeli distance by road is approximately 470 kilometres on the fast route: NH48 through Tumkur, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Ranebennur and Haveri to Hubballi, then west on state road through Kalghatgi and Haliyal. A mini bus takes 9 to 10 hours including halts. The alternative through Shivamogga, Sagara, Sirsi and Yellapur on NH69 is slower and considerably more scenic, and it is the better choice if Jog Falls is already on your itinerary. This is the longest route we operate from Bangalore, which is why we start it at 4:00 AM.

Pricing starts from around Rs 30,680. The quoted fare includes base fare, fuel charges and driver allowance. Charged separately at actuals are toll and parking, additional driver bata after 9:45 PM, and GST. Tolls are on the higher side here because NH48 is tolled for most of its length. Rafting, safari and forest entry fees are not part of the vehicle quote. No interstate tax applies since the route stays within Karnataka, and the final rental is on total kilometres and hours, garage to garage.

Not always, and this is the most important question on this page. Dandeli’s resorts are spread along the Kali outside town and several are approached by narrow, sometimes unmetalled forest roads. A 12 or 17 seater reaches almost all of them; a full 24 seater does not. Give us the resort name when you enquire and we will check the approach and either size the vehicle accordingly or arrange a transfer for the final stretch. It is also worth asking the resort directly what the largest vehicle to reach their gate has been.

Broadly October to May, but it depends on water release from the Supa Dam and is suspended through the monsoon, so it is never guaranteed for a specific date. Confirm availability directly with your resort or activity operator for your exact dates before you finalise the trip. If rafting is the reason your group is going, this is the first thing to settle and the vehicle booking should follow it, not precede it.

A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms your booking and guarantees the specific mini bus variant on your travel date. The advance must be paid digitally by UPI, bank transfer or card. A receipt is issued within 30 minutes, and the balance is settled at trip end after deducting the advance. For corporate and college bookings we can issue a Proforma Invoice first so your accounts office can release the advance against it.

Yes, and it is mostly done exactly that way, but plan it as two nights rather than one. Leaving Bangalore at four on a Friday morning or driving up Friday night is not something we recommend, since the last stretch runs through protected forest with night movement restrictions. The workable pattern is an early Saturday departure, two nights at the resort, and a Monday return, or a Friday departure for groups who can take the day.

No. The route stays inside Karnataka throughout, so no interstate permit or border tax applies. All vehicle documentation, fitness, permit and driver compliance for Karnataka is maintained as standard across the fleet. Separate forest department entry permits apply for the sanctuary and for sites such as Kavala Caves; those are arranged at the gate or through your resort and are paid by passengers.

Our minibus hire bangalore fleet covers 12, 14, 17, 20 and 24 seater configurations in AC and non-AC. For a team of fifteen to twenty the 20 or 24 seater is usually right, subject to the resort approach check above. Under twelve, an 8 to 18 seater tempo traveller is more economical. For an offsite of forty or more we run 27 to 50 seater coaches or multiple mini buses in convoy, and we are happy to quote both so you can compare cost against flexibility once you are on the ground.

No. Tejas Tours and Travels does not operate sleeper bus services. All our vehicles are seated configuration with push-back seats. On this route that is not a limitation but a preference — we run the drive in daylight with a very early start, because the final approach passes through protected forest where night movement is restricted and because a driver locating an unfamiliar resort access road at night is a problem worth avoiding.

Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if they wish to be covered, and note that rafting, kayaking and other adventure activities are booked through resorts and licensed operators who carry their own terms and waivers. All our vehicles carry valid insurance and full statutory compliance, and every driver is verified with a commercial licence and route experience, but personal passenger cover is not part of the booking. To book, call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773 or email info@tejastravels.com with your travel date, Bangalore pickup location, group size, resort name and day-wise itinerary. A written itemised quote follows within 2 hours; confirm it, pay the 20 percent advance, and you receive driver details, vehicle registration and the full billing breakdown in writing. Our mini bus booking online and WhatsApp enquiry lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
