Sharadamba Temple and the Matha
The Sharada Peetham has functioned continuously since the eighth century and is the first of the four mathas Adi Shankara established, with an unbroken line of acharyas. The Sharadamba temple is its principal shrine, the goddess seated on the Sri Chakra in a gold-plated image. The complex on the Tunga includes the matha buildings, a Sanskrit college and the ghats. Visit in the morning or for the evening worship. Dress conventions apply, and seva or special darshan arrangements are made through the matha rather than through any agent.

Bangalore
Departure Point
Your journey to Ooty begins from Bangalore, the gateway to South India's most beloved hill stations. Pick-up is available from any part of the city — Koramangala, Electronic City, Whitefield, Hebbal, Yeshwanthpur, Marathahalli, or Majestic. The most common route out of Bangalore takes you onto NH275, the six-lane Mysore Expressway, which is one of the smoothest and best-maintained national highways in Karnataka. An early departure between 5 AM and 6 AM is strongly advised to clear Bangalore city limits before peak traffic begins. The first 50 km on the expressway are fast, comfortable, and lightly trafficked in the early hours, setting a pleasant tone for the journey ahead. Our drivers are experienced in choosing the optimal departure window and route based on real-time traffic conditions, ensuring that the first stretch of your Bangalore to Ooty road trip is efficient, calm, and enjoyable from the very first kilometre.

Yediyur
Siddhalingeshwara Temple Town
The route leaves Bangalore northwest onto NH 75, and the first stretch to Nelamangala is the only part of the day that depends on timing rather than road - our drivers aim to be past the junction before 7:00 AM, since Mysore, Mangalore, Hassan and Tumkur traffic all diverges there and it builds fast on weekend mornings. Beyond Nelamangala the highway opens up properly. Kunigal is known for the stud farm, one of the oldest horse breeding establishments in India and associated with Tipu Sultan. Yediyur, twenty-five kilometres on, has a lakeside Siddhalingeshwara temple and the best cluster of highway restaurants on this road - it is the standard breakfast halt and worth using properly, since the options thin after Hassan.

Hassan
Base of the Hoysala Belt
Eighty-five kilometres of good four-lane highway as the route crosses into Hassan district and the landscape shifts into plantation country - coconut, areca and paddy, greener and more enclosed than the open country behind. Channarayapatna is the junction for Shravanabelagola, where the Gommateshwara monolith stands on Vindhyagiri twelve kilometres off the highway. Hassan is the district headquarters and the base for the entire Hoysala circuit. For travellers with time, Belur and Halebidu are within reach and both were inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage in 2023 - Belur sits directly on the road ahead, which makes it the easier of the two to build into this journey.

Chikmagalur
Coffee Cradle of India
Belur comes up thirty-five kilometres beyond Hassan and it is the best short stop on this route. The Chennakeshava temple, commissioned in 1117 and worked on for over a century, carries bracket figures around the outer wall that are among the finest sculpture in India. An hour covers it; ninety minutes covers it properly. Chikmagalur follows, and the country changes again - the Baba Budan hills rise to the north and coffee replaces everything else. This is where Indian coffee began, when Baba Budan is said to have carried seven seeds back from Yemen and planted them on the hill that now bears his name. The town is the centre of the Karnataka coffee trade and a substantial share of what India exports is grown within sight of this road.

Sringeri
First Matha of Adi Shankara
Eighty-five kilometres west and south through the coffee belt and into proper Ghat country - the road narrows, the estates give way to forest in stretches, and it winds continuously without ever becoming a serious ghat. Balehonnur, on the Bhadra, is the seat of the Rambhapuri Peetha, one of the five principal Veerashaiva monastic centres, which most travellers pass without knowing. Sringeri sits in a bend of the Tunga with the matha complex on the bank and the town around it. It is small, green and quiet, and the temple complex is the centre of everything. Accommodation includes matha guest houses as well as hotels, and the former book directly through the matha. Our driver takes you to the confirmed address and assists with luggage. A 6:00 AM departure puts most travellers in Sringeri by around 1:00 PM, in good time for the evening worship.

Bus Packages for the Bangalore to Sringeri Route
Corporate Package
Chikmagalur district has become one of the standard offsite destinations for Bangalore companies, and the estate resorts around Mudigere and Balehonnur sit directly on this route, which makes a combined offsite and Sringeri visit straightforward. Includes GST invoicing, a Proforma Invoice for PO-based approval, a named driver team for the full trip and consolidated monthly billing for registered accounts. The same corporate bus rental bangalore vehicle stays with your team throughout, with duty slips signed daily and reconciled against the final invoice. For headcounts past fifty we run coordinated multiple coaches so the group arrives together. Our corporate travels desk manages it end to end.
Family and Pilgrimage Package
The dominant booking on this corridor. Temple associations and extended families running the Sringeri, Horanadu, Kalasa, Kollur and Udupi circuit across four to six days, very often with a fixed order of darshan and specific timings to keep. The package is planned around temple sessions rather than driving times, with the coach waiting through each visit and a driver who understands that a matha visit does not run to a schedule the group controls. Sringeri fills heavily during Sharada Navaratri and Shankara Jayanti, and for those dates we need considerable notice. For guest movement at temple weddings we coordinate with our wedding car rental bangalore service so the whole party travels on one plan.
Budget Package
For groups where cost per head decides the booking, which on this route means college tours, school heritage trips combining Belur, Halebidu and Shravanabelagola, and association travel funded by contribution. Non-AC 27 to 45 seater coaches, point to point, clean vehicles and verified drivers. Non-AC is comfortable on this route for most of the year, since the temperature drops steadily from Belur onwards and Sringeri is cool by late afternoon. The bus rate per km in bangalore for the non-AC tier is our lowest. The budget tier is about vehicle specification only, never about maintenance, driver vetting or statutory compliance.
Luxury and Volvo Package
Volvo and BharatBenz coaches in seated configuration, with wider reclining seats, better suspension and the cabin insulation that makes an eight hour journey pass quickly. The suspension difference is felt most on the two-lane sections after Belur. This tier suits senior management travel, conference movements and premium family occasions. Our volvo bus rental bangalore fleet covers it, and we will tell you honestly which Malnad roads a Volvo should stay off, which is the same advice we give for any 45 seater.
Our Bus Fleet in Bangalore
Our bus fleet runs 27 to 50 seater coaches in AC and non-AC, including Volvo and Benz vehicles for the premium tier. We operate the full range of group transport from the same Bangalore base, so if your headcount changes after booking we can usually move you across categories without restarting the process.
• Bus — 27 to 50 seater, including Volvo and Benz coaches, the core vehicle for this route
• Mini bus — 12 to 24 seater, AC and non-AC, for groups below twenty-five and for the Agumbe and Sirimane legs
• Tempo traveller — 8 to 18 seater, for smaller parties and for local sightseeing alongside a coach
• Force Urbania — 13 to 17 seater luxury van
• Cars — 4 to 7 seater, from Etios, Dzire, Innova and Commuter through Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross and Fortuner, up to Corolla Altis, Camry, Audi A6, Audi Q7, BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz E Class, Mercedes-Benz S Class and Rolls-Royce Ghost
Tejas Tours and Travels does not operate sleeper bus services. Every vehicle we run is seated configuration with push-back seats. On this route the drive is comfortably completed in daylight with an early start, and we would not take a coach through the Malnad ghat sections at night in any case. Where a group prefers to split the journey we plan a hotel halt at Hassan or Chikmagalur.
Billing Details — What Is Included and What Is Extra
We quote in writing before you book and the quote itemises everything, so there are no surprises at trip end. A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms your booking.
Included in the Quoted Fare
• Base fare and fuel charges
• Driver allowance
Not Included — Billed Separately at Actuals
• Toll charges and parking fees
• Interstate tax where applicable. On the Sringeri route the journey stays within Karnataka, so no interstate permit arises unless your itinerary extends beyond the state
• Additional driver bata after 9:45 PM
• GST as applicable
• Final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage
The garage-to-garage basis is standard across the organised group transport industry in Bangalore. The meter starts when the vehicle leaves our garage for your pickup point and ends when it returns. We factor this into the written quote, so the number you approve is the number you pay.
Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if required. Vehicle insurance and full statutory driver and vehicle compliance are maintained across the fleet.

What Our Customers Say About Our Bus Services in Bangalore
Why Choose Tejas Tours and Travels?
Frequently Asked Questions — Bangalore to Sringeri Bus
The bangalore to sringeri distance is approximately 335 kilometres via Nelamangala, Kunigal, Channarayapatna, Hassan, Belur, Mudigere and Balehonnur, which comes to seven and a half to eight and a half hours including halts. The alternative through Tumkur, Tiptur, Arsikere and Chikmagalur covers a similar distance and suits itineraries that include Chikmagalur town. We recommend a 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM departure so the group clears Nelamangala before Tumkur Road fills.
No. The entire route lies within Karnataka, so no interstate permit or border tax arises, which makes the billing on this corridor simpler and cheaper than our Kerala or Tamil Nadu routes. Permits only become relevant if your itinerary extends beyond the state. Tolls and parking are still billed at actuals as they are on every route.
Yes, comfortably. NH75 to Hassan is four-lane and the state roads through Belur, Mudigere and Balehonnur carry full-size coaches daily. Where size becomes a constraint is the local sightseeing: the Agumbe ghat has fourteen hairpins on a narrow alignment that a 50 seater should not attempt, Sirimane Falls is reached by a narrow estate road, and the Kudremukh interior is not coach territory. We pair the coach with a smaller vehicle for those legs and tell you at quotation stage rather than at the top of a ghat.
Bus fares around Rs 25,780. The final figure depends on vehicle class, number of days and total kilometres run. Since billing is garage to garage on actual kilometres and hours, we issue a written itemised quote within 2 hours rather than a verbal estimate.
A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms your booking and guarantees the specific bus on your travel date. The advance must be paid digitally by UPI, bank transfer or card. A receipt is issued within 30 minutes and the balance is settled at trip end after deducting the advance. For Sringeri festival dates and for bookings above Rs 50,000, a higher advance may be required.
Yes, and that is how most groups book this route. The same coach and driver stay with you throughout, covering Sringeri, Horanadu, Kalasa, Kollur Mookambika and Udupi, with Belur, Halebidu and Shravanabelagola added on either leg. The roads between all the main temple stops take a full-size coach. Multi-day hire is billed on total kilometres and hours with a per-day minimum, plus driver allowance and night halt charges. Share your day-wise itinerary and any fixed darshan timings at enquiry stage and we quote the whole trip as one number.
Two nights covers Sringeri itself, Kigga and Sirimane without rushing. Three nights lets you add Horanadu and Kalasa properly. Groups doing the full circuit through Kollur Mookambika and Udupi should plan five nights, and those adding Dharmasthala and Kukke Subramanya on the return, six. Belur and Shravanabelagola fit on the outbound or return leg without costing a separate day.
No. Tejas Tours and Travels does not operate sleeper bus services. All our vehicles are seated configuration with push-back seats. On this route the drive is comfortably completed in daylight with an early start, and we would not take a coach through the Malnad sections at night in any case. Where a group wants to split the journey, we plan a hotel halt at Hassan or Chikmagalur.
October to May is the reliable window, with the post-monsoon months from October to January the most pleasant. The Malnad monsoon between June and September is genuinely heavy, and while Sringeri and the main temple roads stay open, the estate roads to Sirimane and the Agumbe ghat deteriorate and landslide closures do happen. Groups travelling in those months should keep the itinerary to the main routes, and our force majeure terms cover a full refund if roads close.
Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if they wish to be covered. All vehicles carry valid insurance and full statutory compliance, and every driver is verified with a commercial licence and route experience, but personal passenger cover is not part of the booking. To book, call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773 or email info@tejastravels.com with your travel date, Bangalore pickup location, group size and day-wise itinerary. A written itemised quote follows within 2 hours; confirm it, pay the 20 percent advance, and you receive driver details, vehicle registration and the full billing breakdown in writing. Our bangalore bus booking and WhatsApp enquiry lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
