Padmavati Devi Temple
The principal shrine of the kshetra, where Padmavati is worshipped as the presiding deity rather than as an attendant figure. The temple is modest in scale by comparison with the great Karnataka complexes and busy in a quiet, steady way - pilgrims arrive through the day, particularly from the Jain communities of Karnataka and Maharashtra. Visit in the morning or the evening session. The temple keeps a midday break, dress conventions apply, and the annual rathotsava is worth planning around or avoiding depending on whether you want the crowd.

Bangalore
Departure Point
Your journey to Ooty begins from Bangalore, the gateway to South India's most beloved hill stations. Pick-up is available from any part of the city — Koramangala, Electronic City, Whitefield, Hebbal, Yeshwanthpur, Marathahalli, or Majestic. The most common route out of Bangalore takes you onto NH275, the six-lane Mysore Expressway, which is one of the smoothest and best-maintained national highways in Karnataka. An early departure between 5 AM and 6 AM is strongly advised to clear Bangalore city limits before peak traffic begins. The first 50 km on the expressway are fast, comfortable, and lightly trafficked in the early hours, setting a pleasant tone for the journey ahead. Our drivers are experienced in choosing the optimal departure window and route based on real-time traffic conditions, ensuring that the first stretch of your Bangalore to Ooty road trip is efficient, calm, and enjoyable from the very first kilometre.

Tiptur
Copra Capital of India
The route leaves Bangalore northwest on NH 48 and branches at Nelamangala, which is the only stretch that depends on timing rather than road - our drivers aim to be past the junction before 7:00 AM, since four corridors diverge there. Tumakuru is the Kalpataru Nadu, the land of the wish-fulfilling tree, which here means coconut - the district grows a great deal of it, and the Siddaganga Math on the edge of town has fed and educated students free for generations. Tiptur, sixty kilometres on, is the copra capital of India: its dry coconut carries a GI tag and the market here sets prices for the trade nationally. The coconut country either side of the road is unbroken for an hour.

Tarikere
Gateway to Bhadra
Arsikere is a substantial railway junction and coconut trading town, and it holds something most travellers drive past without knowing - a thirteenth-century Hoysala Ishvara temple with a sixteen-pointed star mandapa that is among the more architecturally inventive of the smaller Hoysala buildings. Twenty minutes off the road, and worth it. Kadur and Birur follow, junction towns where the Chikmagalur and Shivamogga roads divide, and then Tarikere, which is the turn for the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary and reservoir. The country here is transitional - still plateau, but the Ghats are visible to the west and the vegetation is thickening.

Shivamogga
Gateway to the Malnad
Seventy kilometres north-west on good road as the landscape turns properly Malnad - areca, paddy and forest, with the Ghats closer and the light different. Shivamogga sits on the Tunga and is the district town from which this entire region is administered and reached. It is the natural lunch halt and the last place with a full range of services before the hill roads. For groups extending the trip, Shivamogga is also the practical base for Jog, Sagara and the Sharavathi country - a good number of our Humcha bookings actually stay here rather than at Humcha, which has very limited accommodation.

Humcha
Padmavati Kshetra of Karnataka
Seventy kilometres west and the character changes completely. The road narrows and winds through areca gardens and forest, climbing gently into the Malnad proper, and the pace drops well below what the distance suggests - budget an hour and a half rather than an hour. Hosanagara is the taluk town, in the country of the Sharavathi backwaters. Humcha is small: the temple, the math, the basadis and a village around them, with the hills close on every side. It has been a Jain settlement continuously since the Santaras founded it around the eighth century, which is a long time for a place this size to have held its character. Our driver takes you to the confirmed address and assists with luggage. A 6:00 AM departure puts most travellers in Humcha by around 2:30 PM, in time for the evening session at the temple.

Bus Packages for the Bangalore to Humcha Route
Corporate Package
For Bangalore technology, manufacturing and services organisations moving large teams for offsites, CSR programmes, annual outings and MICE events. Includes GST invoicing, a Proforma Invoice for PO-based approval, a named driver for the full trip, and consolidated monthly billing for registered accounts. A corporate bus rental bangalore booking on this corridor is usually part of a wider Malnad itinerary taking in Jog Falls, Kemmangundi or Sringeri alongside Humcha, and the absence of any ghat section makes it one of the more comfortable long routes for a full coach. Duty slips are signed daily and reconciled against the final invoice. Our corporate travels desk manages multi-vehicle movements where one coach is not enough.
Family and Pilgrimage Package
The dominant booking on this route by a wide margin. Jain sanghas, temple committees and extended family groups make up most of the traffic to Humcha, and these itineraries run on darshan timings and puja schedules rather than driving hours. That means the coach waits, often for several hours, and the driver treats it as expected rather than as an inconvenience. We plan halts around older passengers, brief drivers on the Math’s parking and accommodation arrangements, and build in the flexibility that a pilgrimage group needs when a ritual runs long. Groups regularly extend from Humcha to Sringeri, Kollur Mookambika and Dharmasthala across five to seven days, all quoted as a single itinerary.
Budget Package
For groups where cost per head decides the booking. Non-AC 27 to 50 seater buses, point to point, clean vehicle, verified driver, no frills — suited to community associations, temple committees, college groups and school parties. The bus rate per km in bangalore for the non-AC tier is our lowest, and across forty or fifty passengers on a 340 kilometre run the saving is substantial. The Malnad climate around Humcha is mild for much of the year, which makes non-AC a practical choice outside the March to May window. School groups travelling on a school excursion bus rental bangalore booking normally take this tier. Budget refers to vehicle specification only, never to maintenance standards or driver vetting.
Luxury Package
Volvo and BharatBenz coaches with wider recliner seats, superior suspension, better cabin insulation and premium interiors. On a route of this length the difference is felt most in the last two hours, when a group in a standard bus is restless and a group in a volvo luxury bus is not. This tier suits corporate movements, large wedding parties travelling together, and pilgrimage groups where members are older or the itinerary runs across a full week. Our volvo bus rental bangalore fleet covers the premium end for conferences, weddings and major group movements, and it needs booking further ahead than the standard tiers because fleet numbers are limited.
Our Bus Fleet in Bangalore
Our ac bus rental bangalore fleet runs 27 to 50 seater coaches in standard, executive, Volvo and BharatBenz configurations. We operate the full range of group vehicles from one Bangalore base, so if your headcount shifts after booking we can usually move you between categories without restarting the process.
• Bus — 27 to 50 seater, including Volvo and Benz coaches, the core vehicle for this route
• Mini bus — 12 to 24 seater, AC and non-AC, for smaller pilgrimage parties
• Tempo traveller — 8 to 18 seater, AC and non-AC
• Force Urbania — 13 to 17 seater luxury van
• Cars — 4 to 7 seater, from Etios, Dzire, Innova and Commuter through Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross and Fortuner, up to Corolla Altis, Camry, Audi A6, Audi Q7, BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz E Class, Mercedes-Benz S Class and Rolls-Royce Ghost
Tejas Tours and Travels does not operate sleeper bus services. All our coaches are seated configuration with push-back seats. On the Humcha route this is not a limitation, since the journey is comfortably completed in daylight, and groups that want to travel overnight are better advised to adjust the schedule than to look for a sleeper.
Billing Details — What Is Included and What Is Extra
We quote in writing before you book and the quote itemises everything, so nothing appears at trip end that you have not already approved. A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms the booking.
Included in the Quoted Fare
• Base fare and fuel charges
• Driver allowance
Not Included — Billed Separately at Actuals
• Toll charges and parking fees
• Interstate tax, where the itinerary crosses a state border
• Additional driver bata after 9:45 PM
• GST as applicable
• Final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage
Bangalore to Humcha stays within Karnataka throughout, so no interstate permit or border tax applies. Extend the itinerary into Kerala, Goa, Maharashtra or Tamil Nadu and permit charges apply, shown as separate line items in the quote. For multi-day hire, driver night halt charges are quoted separately and stated upfront.
The garage-to-garage basis is standard across the organised group transport industry in Bangalore. The meter starts when the coach leaves our garage for your pickup point and stops when it returns. This is built into the written quote, so the figure you approve is the figure you pay.
Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if required. Vehicle insurance and full statutory driver and vehicle compliance are maintained across the fleet.

What Our Customers Say About Our Bus Services in Bangalore
Why Choose Tejas Tours and Travels?
Frequently Asked Questions — Bangalore to Humcha Bus
The bangalore to humcha distance by road is approximately 340 kilometres, running through Nelamangala, Tumkur, Tiptur, Arsikere, Kadur, Birur, Tarikere, Bhadravathi and Shivamogga, then west through Ayanur and Ripponpet. A coach takes 7 hours 30 minutes to 8 hours 30 minutes including breakfast and lunch halts. A 5:00 AM departure from Bangalore puts a group at Humcha by early afternoon, comfortably in time for darshan. There is no ghat section anywhere on the route, which is why timings hold up better here than on the coastal corridors.
Bus fares around Rs 30,340. The final figure depends on vehicle class, number of days and total kilometres run. Since billing is garage to garage on actual kilometres and hours, we issue a written itemised quote within 2 hours rather than a verbal estimate.
Our fleet covers 27, 32, 35, 41, 45 and 50 seater coaches in standard, executive, Volvo and BharatBenz configurations, AC and non-AC. A 35 seater bus rental bangalore booking suits most temple committee groups, while a 50 seater bus rent bangalore is the choice for larger sanghas travelling together. Below twenty-seven passengers, a 12 to 24 seater mini bus is more economical; below twelve, a tempo traveller or Urbania. We will recommend the right size once you tell us your headcount and luggage.
Yes. There is no ghat or hairpin section on this route, and the final stretch through Ayanur and Ripponpet, while narrower than the highway, is in good condition and carries regular bus traffic. Humcha itself receives organised pilgrim groups as its normal business, and the Hombuja Jain Math has parking for coaches alongside its dharmashala accommodation. This is one of the more coach-friendly pilgrimage destinations in Karnataka, which is a large part of why groups from Bangalore book buses rather than multiple smaller vehicles.
October to February is the most comfortable window, with mild Malnad weather and clear roads. The annual Ratha Yatra of Lord Parshvanatha and Goddess Padmavati falls in March or April on the moola nakshatra day and is the busiest period of the year — extraordinary to witness, but accommodation, darshan access and bus availability all tighten sharply, so book months ahead. June to September brings heavy monsoon rain to this region; travel remains straightforward since there is no ghat, and Jog Falls is at its most spectacular during exactly this period, which is why many groups combine the two.
No. The whole route stays within Karnataka, so no interstate permit or border tax applies. If you extend the itinerary into Goa, Maharashtra for Shirdi, Kerala or Tamil Nadu, permits are required and billed at actuals as separate line items. We arrange all permit documentation before departure in those cases, so nothing is left for your group to handle at a checkpoint.
A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms your booking and guarantees the specific bus on your travel date. For large corporate bookings above Rs 50,000, a higher advance may be required. The advance must be paid digitally by UPI, bank transfer or card, and a receipt is issued within 30 minutes. The balance is settled at trip end after deducting the advance. Volvo and BharatBenz coaches, and any booking around the Humcha Rathotsava, should be confirmed as early as possible.
Because a committed coach is far harder to reallocate. When a 45 seater is blocked for your date, that vehicle is out of the fleet, and short-notice cancellations cannot realistically be filled. Our bus tiers therefore run on a 7-day window for a full refund rather than the 72 hours applied to cars and smaller vehicles. Between 4 and 7 days the charge is 10 percent of the total fare, from 48 hours to 4 days it is 25 percent, and from 24 to 48 hours it is 50 percent. Modifications with adequate notice are accommodated without penalty, subject to availability.
Yes, and most pilgrimage groups book it that way. The same coach and driver stay with you throughout, covering Humcha, Thirthahalli, Nagara, Shivamogga, Jog Falls, Sigandur, Sringeri and Kollur Mookambika as required. Multi-day bookings are billed on total kilometres and hours with a per-day minimum plus driver allowance and night halt charges. Share your day-wise itinerary at enquiry stage and we quote the whole trip as one figure, which also lets us assign a driver for the full duration rather than changing crew mid-itinerary.
Tejas Tours and Travels does not operate sleeper bus services. All coaches are seated configuration with push-back seats, and on this route it makes no practical difference, since the journey is completed comfortably within daylight hours. On insurance: we do not provide passenger insurance cover, and passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if they wish to be covered. All vehicles carry valid insurance and full statutory compliance, and every driver is verified with a commercial licence and long-route experience, but personal passenger cover is not part of the booking. To book, call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773 or email info@tejastravels.com. Our bangalore bus booking and WhatsApp enquiry lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
