Tejas Travels maintains a fair, transparent and tiered cancellation policy for all bus hire in Bangalore. All terms are communicated in writing at booking confirmation.
• More than 7 days before departure — no cancellation charge. 100 percent of the advance is refunded within 5 to 7 working days.
• 4 to 7 days before departure — 10 percent of the total trip fare. Advance refunded less the 10 percent deduction.
• 48 hours to 4 days before departure — 25 percent of the total trip fare. Advance refunded less the 25 percent deduction.
• 24 to 48 hours before departure — 50 percent of the total trip fare. Advance refunded less the 50 percent deduction.
• Less than 24 hours before departure — 75 percent of the total trip fare. Minimal or no refund depending on trip value.
• No-show, where the bus has been deployed and the group is absent — 100 percent of the total trip fare. No refund. Full fare payable.
• Cancellation by Tejas Travels due to breakdown or force majeure — no charge. 100 percent refunded within 2 working days, or an alternate bus offered.
Special Cancellation Conditions for Bangalore Bus Hire
• Weddings — minimum 7-day notice for a full refund. Cancellations within 3 days of a Bangalore wedding are non-refundable.
• Multi-day outstation — Kodaikanal, Ooty, Munnar, Goa, Shirdi and other multi-day routes require minimum 7-day notice for a full refund on overnight bus hire.
• Interstate permit charges — where a Tamil Nadu permit has already been obtained and paid for before cancellation, that cost is non-refundable and is deducted separately from the refund.
• Peak dates — New Year's Eve, Diwali, Dasara, the April to June Kodaikanal season and Bangalore long weekends require minimum 48-hour notice for a full refund.
• Corporate contracts — monthly commute contract terms govern. Modifications with 48-hour notice are accommodated subject to route availability.
• Force majeure — Bangalore bandhs, road closures, and ghat-road or landslide closures on the Kodaikanal route attract a 100 percent refund within 2 working days regardless of notice period.

Yes. The Batlagundu ghat road is the standard route for tourist coaches and large buses use it daily. The practical constraints are speed and parking rather than access — a full-size coach takes longer on the hairpins, and parking around Kodaikanal Lake and Coaker's Walk is tight in season, so we plan drop-and-collect points. The one place a coach genuinely cannot go is the Berijam Lake forest road, which needs a smaller vehicle.
October to March gives the clearest weather and the best viewpoint visibility. April to June is peak season — pleasant temperatures but heavy crowds, tight accommodation and strict e-pass enforcement. July to September brings mist and full waterfalls, with a real risk of landslide closures on the ghat. We build extra buffer into monsoon bookings.

On the Kodaikanal route the Tamil Nadu permit always applies, so it is never a nil line.
