Marikamba and Manchala Nagappa Shrines
Within the temple village are smaller shrines to Goddess Marikamba and to Manchala Nagappa, the serpent deity. Many devotees offer prayers at both after visiting Sri Mahalakshmi.
Theetha Reservoir
Close to the temple, the theetha dam holds back the Suvarnamukhi river and forms a calm reservoir surrounded by hills. Many visitors take a short walk along the water after darshan, especially in the evening light. It is fullest after a good monsoon.
Devarayanadurga Temples
About fifteen kilometres away over the hills, devarayanadurga has the Yoga Narasimha Temple near the summit and the Bhoga Narasimha Temple at the base, along with fort ruins and wide views. It is the most popular add-on to a Goravanahalli visit.
Namada Chilume
A small natural spring in the forest near Devarayanadurga, linked by legend to Lord Rama, who is said to have shot an arrow into the rock to bring forth water. The shaded surroundings make it a pleasant stop.
Siddarabetta
Near Koratagere, Siddarabetta is a rocky hill with caves and a Shiva shrine, long associated with sages and herbal plants. The climb through caves and between boulders is short but fun for families with older children.
Siddaganga Matha
At Kyatsandra, on the edge of Tumakuru, this renowned monastery provides free education, food and shelter to thousands of students. The calm campus and hilltop Siddalingeshwara Temple make a meaningful stop.
Madhugiri Fort
About thirty-five kilometres north, Madhugiri's giant monolithic hill is crowned by a historic fort. The climb is steep and suited to fit trekkers who start early, while others can simply admire the rock from the town.
Shivagange
On the way back near Dobbaspet, Shivagange is a sacred hill often called Dakshina Kashi. Its cave temples, the Olakal Theertha spring and the rock-cut steps make it a rewarding stop for devotees and trekkers.

The bangalore to goravanahalli distance is about 80 kilometres via Nelamangala and Dobbaspet. By bus it takes 2 hours to 2 hours 30 minutes. The full loop via Devarayanadurga and Tumakuru is about 190 kilometres.
Outstation rates start from Rs 45 per km for a 29 seater bus, and full-day local packages are available for temple day trips. We quote whichever suits your plan best. Tolls, parking, driver bata after 9:45 PM and GST are extra, and the final rental is calculated garage to garage.
The temple is generally open from early morning to evening. Goravanahalli temple timings can change on festival days, so confirm before visiting. Tuesdays and Fridays are the most auspicious and the busiest, so arrive early on those days.
