Mallamma Temple
The hill's older name, Enugu Mallamma Konda, comes from the local legend of Mallamma, a kind-hearted woman who is said to have cared for an elephant and later came to be revered as a goddess. A small temple dedicated to her stands on the hill, and it remains an important local shrine.
Colonial Heritage and Horsley's Summer House
W. D. Horsley, a collector of the Cuddapah district, is credited with developing the hill as a summer retreat in the 19th century.
