Murudeshwar
About 30 kilometres south of Idagunji, Murudeshwar is famous for its towering statue of Lord Shiva on Kanduka hill, one of the tallest in the world, and a tall temple gopuram overlooking the Arabian Sea. The temple is linked to the Atmalinga legend, and Netrani Island offshore is known for scuba diving. Most pilgrims combine Murudeshwar with Idagunji on the same day.

About 55 kilometres north, Gokarna is a sacred temple town known for the Mahabaleshwar Temple, which is believed to house the Atmalinga, along with beautiful beaches such as Om Beach and Kudle Beach. Idagunji, Murudeshwar and Gokarna together form a popular coastal pilgrimage circuit.
Jog Falls
On the way from Bangalore, Jog Falls is where the Sharavathi plunges down in four distinct streams known as Raja, Rani, Roarer and Rocket. It is one of the highest plunge waterfalls in India and is spectacular during and just after the monsoon. The viewpoints near the falls give excellent views, and steps lead towards the base when permitted.
Chaturmukha Basadi, Gersoppa
Near Gersoppa, the Chaturmukha Basadi is a Jain temple with four identical entrances facing the four directions, a reminder of Gersoppa's past as the capital of Rani Chennabhairadevi, the Pepper Queen. The ruins lie in a quiet forest setting beside the Sharavathi valley.
