It is an extraordinary sight, but the rocks are slippery and the water deceptively strong, so swimming is strictly off limits.
Chunchi Falls

On the way back, the Art of Living campus at Udayapura is worth an hour. The lotus-shaped Vishalakshi Mantap meditation hall stands on a hilltop surrounded by landscaped gardens, and the campus is open to visitors with a cafeteria serving simple vegetarian food. Granite and Silk Town of Karnataka
Kanakapura is the main town on the route and the natural breakfast halt. It is known across the state for its granite quarries, which supply stone for buildings far beyond Karnataka, and for sericulture, with silk cocoon rearing common in surrounding villages. The town has several well-known darshinis and military hotels serving idli, vada and thatte idli. Stock up on water and snacks here, because options become limited beyond this point.
