What survives is a small pillared structure with traces of the original decoration, and it takes twenty minutes rather than an hour. Its value is context: it explains why the British wanted this hill badly enough to besiege it.
Yoga Nandeeshwara Temple — The Summit Shrine
The temple at the top completes a trio with the shrines in the village below. Tradition reads them as three stages of Shiva: Arunachaleshwara as childhood, Bhoga Nandeeshwara as youth, and Yoga Nandeeshwara here as renunciation. The structure is plain compared with the foothill complex, with a large Nandi at the entrance, but its position gives it something the village temples cannot match.
Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple — Nine Centuries at the Foothills

Begun in the ninth century under the Nolambas and extended by the Gangas, Cholas, Hoysalas and Vijayanagara rulers, the complex holds three shrines, a pillared marriage hall and a large stepped kalyani said to be a source of the South Pennar. It is ASI-protected, and some accounts hold that Belur and Halebidu drew on it.
Amrutha Sarovara and Brahmashram — Water and Silence on the Summit
Amrutha Sarovara, the lake of nectar, is a spring-fed tank on the hilltop that still supplies water locally and draws birds through the morning. A short walk away is Brahmashram, a small cave hermitage associated with the sage Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. Both take fifteen minutes and both are quiet once the sunrise crowd has left. They reward staying an extra half hour rather than heading straight down.

For a straightforward sunrise run from most parts of Bengaluru, yes, and it is what we quote most often. If you start from a far corner of the city, or add Bhoga Nandeeshwara, Muddenahalli or a vineyard, the running goes beyond it and we will say so at quotation stage.
Access rules and timings on the hill have changed several times in recent years and can vary by day, season and vehicle type, so we confirm the current position at booking. Where vehicles are permitted, your driver takes you to the top and waits in the parking area. Where they are not, he waits at the designated point below.
No. Tejas Tours and Travels does not cover passenger insurance. Our vehicles carry the statutory insurance required of a commercial transport operator, but personal travel or medical cover is not included and should be arranged separately.
Cancellations well in advance attract no charge and the full advance is refunded, with charges rising on a tiered basis as departure approaches. A no-show, where the vehicle has been deployed and the passenger is absent, is chargeable in full; this matters on pre-dawn bookings because the vehicle leaves our garage very early. If we cancel for breakdown or force majeure, you receive a full refund or a substitute vehicle.
For four to six passengers, an Innova Crysta or Innova Hycross handles the hairpins comfortably. Groups of eight to fourteen do best in a Force Urbania or tempo traveller. Full-size coaches are usually held at the foothills rather than taken up the ghat, so tell us your group size early.
October to February gives the most reliable cloud inversions at sunrise along with cool, clear weather, which is why it is peak season. The monsoon months are green and atmospheric but the view is often closed in entirely. March to May is warm and clear with less drama at dawn. Weekdays are always the better experience.
