The Kaveri near Dubare is known for coracle rides and, in the right season and when permitted, river rafting over gentle rapids. Kaveri Nisargadhama
About 15 kilometres from Dubare near Kushalnagar, Nisargadhama is a riverine island reached by a hanging bridge. Bamboo groves, teak trees, a deer park, tree houses and river views make it a lovely place for a relaxed walk with children. It is often combined with Dubare on the same day.
Namdroling Monastery and Golden Temple, Bylakuppe
Bylakuppe is one of the largest Tibetan settlements in India, and Namdroling Monastery is its centrepiece. The Golden Temple houses three large gilded statues of the Buddha, Padmasambhava and Amitayus, surrounded by colourful murals. The peaceful monastery grounds, prayer wheels and monks at study make it a memorable stop, and nearby cafes serve momos and thukpa.
Harangi Dam
About 10 kilometres from Kushalnagar, the Harangi reservoir on a tributary of the Kaveri is surrounded by forest and gardens, and it is especially attractive after the monsoon. The area around Harangi also has an elephant camp, making it a good addition for wildlife lovers.
Chiklihole Reservoir
Close to the Dubare forest, Chiklihole is a small, quiet reservoir with a curved dam wall and forest all around. It sees far fewer visitors than the main sights and is ideal for a peaceful break and photographs, particularly in the early morning or late afternoon.
Madikeri Fort
About 35 kilometres from Kushalnagar, Madikeri Fort stands at the heart of Coorg's main town. First built in the 17th century by the Kodagu ruler Mudduraja, it was rebuilt in stone under Tipu Sultan and later renovated by the Kodagu kings. The fort holds the old palace, two life-size stone elephant statues and a museum in the former church inside its walls, with exhibits on Kodagu's history and culture.
Raja's Seat and Abbey Falls
In Madikeri, Raja's Seat is a garden viewpoint where the Kodagu kings are said to have enjoyed the sunset over rolling hills and valleys. A short drive away, Abbey Falls drops through coffee and spice estates and is at its most powerful in and after the monsoon. Both are easy additions on a Madikeri day.
Mandalpatti Viewpoint
For a little adventure, Mandalpatti near Madikeri offers grassy hilltop views above the clouds. The last stretch is steep and rough, and local jeeps are typically used to reach the top. Sunrise and early morning are the best times to go.

Yes. The bus stays with the group for the whole trip. Some roads, such as the approach to Abbey Falls and the climb to Talacauvery, are narrow, so a large bus may park a little away from the entrance. For groups planning several Coorg hill stops, a mini bus or 35 seater can be more convenient, and we will advise when you enquire.
Cancelling more than 7 days before departure carries no charge, with the full advance refunded within 5 to 7 working days. Between 4 and 7 days the charge is 10 percent of the total fare, between 48 hours and 4 days 25 percent, between 24 and 48 hours 50 percent, and under 24 hours 75 percent. Multi-day outstation hire needs a minimum 7-day notice for a full refund.
