Sharadamba Temple and the Matha
The Sharada Peetham has functioned continuously since the eighth century and is the first of the four mathas Adi Shankara established, with an unbroken line of acharyas. The Sharadamba temple is its principal shrine, the goddess seated on the Sri Chakra in a gold-plated image. The complex on the Tunga includes the matha buildings, a Sanskrit college and the ghats. Visit in the morning or for the evening worship. Dress conventions apply, and seva or special darshan arrangements are made through the matha rather than through any agent.

Bangalore
Departure Point
Your journey to Ooty begins from Bangalore, the gateway to South India's most beloved hill stations. Pick-up is available from any part of the city — Koramangala, Electronic City, Whitefield, Hebbal, Yeshwanthpur, Marathahalli, or Majestic. The most common route out of Bangalore takes you onto NH275, the six-lane Mysore Expressway, which is one of the smoothest and best-maintained national highways in Karnataka. An early departure between 5 AM and 6 AM is strongly advised to clear Bangalore city limits before peak traffic begins. The first 50 km on the expressway are fast, comfortable, and lightly trafficked in the early hours, setting a pleasant tone for the journey ahead. Our drivers are experienced in choosing the optimal departure window and route based on real-time traffic conditions, ensuring that the first stretch of your Bangalore to Ooty road trip is efficient, calm, and enjoyable from the very first kilometre.

Yediyur
Siddhalingeshwara Temple Town
The route leaves Bangalore northwest onto NH 75, and the first stretch to Nelamangala is the only part of the day that depends on timing rather than road - our drivers aim to be past the junction before 7:00 AM, since Mysore, Mangalore, Hassan and Tumkur traffic all diverges there and it builds fast on weekend mornings. Beyond Nelamangala the highway opens up properly. Kunigal is known for the stud farm, one of the oldest horse breeding establishments in India and associated with Tipu Sultan. Yediyur, twenty-five kilometres on, has a lakeside Siddhalingeshwara temple and the best cluster of highway restaurants on this road - it is the standard breakfast halt and worth using properly, since the options thin after Hassan.

Hassan
Base of the Hoysala Belt
Eighty-five kilometres of good four-lane highway as the route crosses into Hassan district and the landscape shifts into plantation country - coconut, areca and paddy, greener and more enclosed than the open country behind. Channarayapatna is the junction for Shravanabelagola, where the Gommateshwara monolith stands on Vindhyagiri twelve kilometres off the highway. Hassan is the district headquarters and the base for the entire Hoysala circuit. For travellers with time, Belur and Halebidu are within reach and both were inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage in 2023 - Belur sits directly on the road ahead, which makes it the easier of the two to build into this journey.

Chikmagalur
Coffee Cradle of India
Belur comes up thirty-five kilometres beyond Hassan and it is the best short stop on this route. The Chennakeshava temple, commissioned in 1117 and worked on for over a century, carries bracket figures around the outer wall that are among the finest sculpture in India. An hour covers it; ninety minutes covers it properly. Chikmagalur follows, and the country changes again - the Baba Budan hills rise to the north and coffee replaces everything else. This is where Indian coffee began, when Baba Budan is said to have carried seven seeds back from Yemen and planted them on the hill that now bears his name. The town is the centre of the Karnataka coffee trade and a substantial share of what India exports is grown within sight of this road.

Sringeri
First Matha of Adi Shankara
Eighty-five kilometres west and south through the coffee belt and into proper Ghat country - the road narrows, the estates give way to forest in stretches, and it winds continuously without ever becoming a serious ghat. Balehonnur, on the Bhadra, is the seat of the Rambhapuri Peetha, one of the five principal Veerashaiva monastic centres, which most travellers pass without knowing. Sringeri sits in a bend of the Tunga with the matha complex on the bank and the town around it. It is small, green and quiet, and the temple complex is the centre of everything. Accommodation includes matha guest houses as well as hotels, and the former book directly through the matha. Our driver takes you to the confirmed address and assists with luggage. A 6:00 AM departure puts most travellers in Sringeri by around 1:00 PM, in good time for the evening worship.

Cab Packages for Every Traveller
Every quotation is built around what you actually need rather than a fixed menu. The four tiers below describe how we typically structure car booking enquiries on this corridor.
Sringeri, Horanadu and Kalasa Circuit Package
The itinerary this audience actually books, and the one the page is built around. Sringeri, Horanadu fifty kilometres on and Kalasa twenty beyond that make a two-day circuit with the vehicle retained - and the roads between them are winding Malnad hill roads where fifty kilometres takes ninety minutes, so a car staying with the group is not optional. Innova and Innova Crysta are the usual choice, with tempo travellers for extended families. Adding Agumbe or Kudremukh extends it by a day and turns a temple trip into something broader.
Family and Pilgrimage Cab Package
For families travelling for darshan at the Sharada Peetham, often across three generations and often as an annual visit. The planning is around the worship times rather than the drive - a morning arrival or an early afternoon one gets you the evening service, and the temple complex, the Vidyashankara temple and the river together take a comfortable half day. Matha guest house accommodation books directly through the matha rather than through any agent, which is worth knowing. Child seats can be arranged with notice.
Weekend Package
Sringeri works genuinely well as a Bangalore weekend - six and a half hours each way on good roads, no serious ghat, and enough within reach to fill two days properly. A Saturday dawn start puts you there for lunch with the afternoon for the temples and Sirimane Falls, and Sunday for Horanadu and Kalasa or for Agumbe. Three days lets you add Kudremukh or Chikmagalur. The vehicle stays with the group throughout, which on Malnad roads with no local transport to speak of is the only arrangement that works.
Premium and Luxury Cab Package
For senior family groups, guest hosting and travellers who want the drive and the circuit to be comfortable. This tier covers our premium car rentals in bangalore range and the innova hycross rent bangalore fleet, alongside our luxury car rental bangalore options. The roads around Sringeri wind continuously without ever being severe, which over two days of circuit driving is felt in the suspension more than in any single stretch - and for anyone prone to travel sickness on hill roads, the vehicle matters.
Fare Inclusions, Exclusions and Advance Payment
Every Tejas Tours and Travels quotation for the Bangalore to Sringeri corridor is issued in writing with the structure below. Nothing outside this list is charged, and everything inside it is stated before you confirm.
Advance payment: 20 percent of the total fare is payable in advance to confirm the booking.
Included in the Quoted Fare
1. Base fare and fuel charges
2. Driver allowance
Not Included in the Quoted Fare
3. Toll and parking charges
4. Interstate tax and permit charges
5. Driver bata after 9:45 PM, charged extra
6. Final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage
7. GST
Insurance note: Tejas Tours and Travels does not cover passenger insurance. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel cover where required. Vehicles carry the statutory motor insurance required under law.
Three points are specific to this route. First, this journey stays entirely within Karnataka, so no interstate permit arises - the exclusion above remains in our standard terms because it applies on our other corridors. Second, seva and any special arrangements at the Sharada Peetham, Horanadu and Kalasa are made through the respective mathas and temples and paid to them, as is matha guest house accommodation; we arrange transport and timing only. Third, circuit running here is substantial and slow - Horanadu is fifty kilometres away and Kalasa seventy, on Malnad hill roads where those distances take far longer than they read - so our circuit quotes carry a stated allowance.

STEP1 | Contact Tejas Travels Call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773, or email info@tejastravels.com — available 24 hours, 7 days a week. Share your travel date, Bangalore pickup location (area or landmark — Whitefield, Electronic City, MG Road, Koramangala, KIA airport, hotel name, tech park), destination or full itinerary, number of passengers, and preferred vehicle. For KIA airport pickups, share the flight number — the driver tracks live flight status and adjusts pickup timing for delayed flights automatically. For luxury vehicles (Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Rolls-Royce), also mention the occasion — corporate, wedding, VIP event — so the team can ensure the best-condition vehicle and, where required, formal chauffeur attire. |
STEP2 | Receive Your Written Quote Within 2 hours of your enquiry, Tejas Travels sends a written quote via WhatsApp or email. The quote clearly itemizes every charge: vehicle hire rate (Rs/km or flat package), driver allowance (Rs 400-1,000/day depending on vehicle class), applicable toll estimates, and any interstate permit if applicable (Tamil Nadu for Ooty, Kerala for Wayanad, Andhra Pradesh for Tirupati). No verbal-only prices — everything in writing before you confirm. For corporate clients requiring reimbursements, a Proforma Invoice can be issued at this stage. If you want to compare two vehicle classes, request both quotes at the same time. |
STEP3 | Confirm Your Booking & Pay Advance Once satisfied with the written quote, confirm via WhatsApp or phone. A 15-20% advance payment confirms the booking. Payment: UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), NEFT/IMPS/RTGS bank transfer, or credit/debit card via payment link. Advance receipt within 30 minutes. Confirmation includes: driver name and mobile, vehicle registration, departure time, pickup location, and full billing breakdown — all in writing. For luxury vehicles (Rolls-Royce Ghost, BMW 7 Series, Mercedes S-Class), advance may be higher due to limited fleet and Bangalore peak-date demand (wedding season November-February, New Year). |

What Our Customers Say About Our Cab Services in Bangalore
Why Choose Tejas Tours and Travels?
Frequently Asked Questions — Bangalore to Sringeri Cab
The bangalore to sringeri distance is around 330 km via NH 75 through Nelamangala, Kunigal, Hassan and Belur, then Chikmagalur and Balehonnur, with reported figures between 320 km and 345 km. A cab takes 6 hours 30 minutes to 7 hours 30 minutes with one halt. The route stays entirely within Karnataka, the roads are good throughout, and there is no serious ghat - which makes it one of the more comfortable long routes from Bangalore.
Yes, and almost everyone does. Sringeri alone is a half day; Horanadu is fifty kilometres on with the Annapoorneshwari temple, and Kalasa twenty beyond that on the Bhadra. Together they make a two-day circuit and it is the itinerary this route is really for. The roads between are winding Malnad hill roads where fifty kilometres takes about ninety minutes, so the vehicle stays with your group throughout - there is no useful local transport out there.
Its twelve pillars. The temple was built around 1338 under Vijayanagara patronage in a mix of Hoysala and Dravidian styles, and the pillars in the main hall are named for the signs of the zodiac and positioned so that sunlight falls on each in the order of the solar months. It also has carved horses along the outer wall, pierced stone windows and inscriptions of real historical value. Most visitors head straight for the Sharadamba shrine and give this one ten minutes; it deserves an hour.
A sedan starts at Rs 7,500 for a one-way drop and Rs 15,500 for a two-day Sringeri, Horanadu and Kalasa circuit. Innova and premium SUV rates are quoted on vehicle and itinerary, and larger vehicles on group size. Every quote itemizes base fare, driver allowance, toll estimate and GST separately, and circuit quotes carry a stated allowance for the hill running between the three temples.
A 20 percent advance on the total fare confirms your booking and holds the specific vehicle for your dates. The advance receipt is issued within 30 minutes, and your confirmation includes the driver name, mobile number, vehicle registration, departure time and the full billing breakdown in writing. For Navaratri at Sringeri, which is the major festival of the year here, book well ahead.
Included: base fare, fuel charges and driver allowance. Not included: toll and parking, driver bata after 9:45 PM, and GST. No interstate permit arises on this route since it stays within Karnataka. Seva and special arrangements at the Sharada Peetham, Horanadu and Kalasa are made with the respective institutions and paid to them, as is matha guest house accommodation. The final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage.
No. Tejas Tours and Travels does not cover passenger insurance. Our vehicles carry the statutory motor insurance required under law and our drivers hold valid commercial licences, but passengers wanting personal travel cover should arrange it independently. For temple committee and community groups, which travel this circuit regularly, a group policy is usually inexpensive and straightforward.
Yes to both, and Belur in particular is worth it. The Chennakeshava temple sits directly on the road thirty-five kilometres beyond Hassan and holds bracket figures among the finest sculpture in India - ninety minutes covers it properly, and it was inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage in 2023. Shravanabelagola is twelve kilometres off the highway at Channarayapatna, though the Gommateshwara climb is around six hundred and fifty barefoot steps, so it is a half day rather than a stop. Tell us at the quotation stage.
If the weather is right, yes. Agumbe is twenty-five kilometres west and is among the wettest places in India, with a celebrated sunset viewpoint looking out over the Ghats toward the coast and a rainforest research station known for its king cobra work. Between November and March a clear evening there is genuinely memorable. In the monsoon you will see cloud and rain and very little else - which is worth knowing before building a day around it.
September to March. The southwest monsoon from June to August brings extremely heavy rain to this part of the Ghats - Agumbe nearby records some of the highest rainfall in the country - which makes the roads slow and the forest spectacular in equal measure. September to November is the ideal window: everything is green after the rains, the falls are running and the roads have dried. Navaratri at Sringeri is the largest festival and fills the town.
