Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple
The heart of the journey. The padmanabhaswamy temple enshrines Lord Vishnu in the Anantha Shayana posture, reclining on the five-hooded serpent Anantha. The 18-foot idol is viewed through three doors: the face and chest through the first, the navel with Brahma on a lotus through the second, and the feet through the third. The idol is made of a special herbal compound called katusarkara yogam, with thousands of saligrama stones within.
