Around 25 to 30 kilometres from Yellapur, sathodi falls is often called a mini Niagara for its wide curtain of water rather than its height. Several streams meet here before joining the Kali river, and the Kodasalli backwaters sit just before the falls. The last few kilometres of road are rough and the final stretch is a short walk, so a higher-ground-clearance car is recommended in the rainy season.

About 70 kilometres from Magod, Dandeli sits on the Kali river inside the Dandeli-Anshi Tiger Reserve, now Kali Tiger Reserve.
