Places to Visit in Nanjanagudu

Srikanteshwara Temple

Srikanteshwara Temple

The Dakshina Kashi, and among the largest temples in Karnataka - a walled compound with a seven-tier gopuram, a long pillared prakaram and over a hundred and twenty shrines, built up over a millennium by successive dynasties. The deity is Nanjundeshwara, Shiva as the one who consumed poison, and locally Hakim Nanjunda after the Tipu Sultan endowment. Visit in the morning session; the temple keeps a midday break. Allow ninety minutes to see the compound properly rather than the twenty minutes most day visitors give it.

The Kapila and the Ghats

The Kapila and the Ghats

The Kapila - the Kabini - runs below the temple and the ghats are used for the ritual bath before darshan, as at the great river shrines. The river rises in Wayanad and joins the Cauvery at Tirumakudalu Narasipura downstream, which is itself a confluence site of some significance. Visit at first light when the ghats are busy and the light is on the water. Flow varies considerably with the season and with releases from the Kabini dam upstream, so follow local direction rather than assuming.

Rasabale and the Tooth Powder

Rasabale and the Tooth Powder

Two things Nanjangud is known for beyond the temple, and both are genuine. Nanjangud rasabale is a banana variety with a GI tag - short, thin-skinned, intensely aromatic and quite unlike a commercial banana - grown in a small area around the town and increasingly scarce, which is why finding it is a minor achievement. And Nanjangud tooth powder has been made here since the nineteenth century and still commands a following that has outlasted a good deal of multinational marketing. Buy both in the town rather than assuming you will find them elsewhere.

Suttur Math

Suttur Math

Around ten kilometres from Nanjangud on the Kapila, Suttur is the seat of a Veerashaiva monastic institution going back to the eleventh century, running a large educational network across Karnataka alongside its religious function. The annual Suttur jatra in January or February draws very large numbers over several days, with a cattle fair, cultural programmes and mass feeding. Visit outside the jatra for a quiet riverside math, or during it for one of the larger rural gatherings in the state - and book well ahead if the latter.

Mysore

Mysore

Twenty-three kilometres north and the obvious pairing. The Amba Vilas palace, Chamundi Hills with the Nandi on the ascent, St Philomena, the Devaraja market and Brindavan Gardens beyond - a full day easily, and the palace illumination on Sunday evenings and public holidays is worth timing for. Visit Mysore on the same trip as a matter of course; a great many of our Nanjangud bookings are actually Mysore trips with the temple added, and the two together make a comfortable two-day itinerary.

Talakadu, Bandipur and Kabini

Talakadu, Bandipur and Kabini

Three quite different extensions. Talakadu, around forty kilometres east on the Cauvery, is the buried town where temples emerge from and disappear under sand dunes - one of the stranger sites in Karnataka. Bandipur is sixty kilometres south with forest department safaris and a reliable elephant population. Kabini, on the reservoir west of it, is the best-known wildlife destination in the state. Visit any as a second day; all three are closer to Nanjangud than to Bangalore and the town works well as a staging point.

Urbania Packages for the Bangalore to Nanjangud Route

Corporate Package

Built for Bangalore companies moving senior teams, visiting clients and leadership groups where the vehicle is part of the impression. Includes GST invoicing, a Proforma Invoice for PO-based approval, a named driver for the full duration and consolidated monthly billing for registered accounts. The Urbania works particularly well for plant visits to the Nanjangud industrial belt, for client itineraries that combine a factory stop with Mysore, and for smaller offsites where a full coach would be more vehicle than the group needs. A corporate urbania rental bangalore booking can be staged across two tech park pickups on the way out of the city, and our corporate travels bangalore desk manages the arrangement end to end.

Family and Pilgrimage Package

The single most common Urbania booking on this corridor. Extended families travelling for a naming ceremony, a first tonsure, an annual vow or a group darshan, usually with grandparents in the party. Everything that makes the Urbania different is aimed at this group: the aisle height that lets an elder reach their seat without stooping, the recliners on a four hour run, the individual AC vents that end the argument about temperature, and the low step-in height that matters more than any specification when someone is eighty. The driver waits through the darshan and the river rites, and there is proper luggage space for prasada, pooja materials and food for the return. Srirangapatna outbound and Chamundi Hills inbound turns it into a complete temple circuit in a day.

Luxury and Executive Package

The 13 seat configuration on the 17 seat body, which converts two rows’ worth of space into legroom. This is the package for milestone family occasions, wedding party movement to a Mysore or Nanjangud venue, senior management travel and any group that wants the trip to feel like an occasion rather than a transfer. Our luxury urbania rental bangalore tier includes vehicles held to a higher interior standard and drivers briefed for formal assignments. For larger movements at the same comfort level, our volvo bus rental bangalore tier covers 41 to 50 seater luxury coaches on the same route.

Our Vehicle Range in Bangalore

The Force Urbania is available in 13, 16 and 17 seat configurations, all air conditioned. Around it we run a full range of group vehicles from the same Bangalore base, so if your headcount changes after booking we can usually move you to another category without restarting the process.

•             Force Urbania — 13 to 17 seater luxury van, the vehicle this page covers

•             Tempo traveller — 8 to 18 seater, the more economical option in a similar seating range

•             Mini bus — 12 to 24 seater, AC and non-AC, for larger family and temple groups

•             Bus — 27 to 50 seater, including Volvo and Benz coaches

•             Cars — 4 to 7 seater, from Etios, Dzire, Innova, Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross and Fortuner through Commuter, Corolla Altis and Camry, up to Audi A6, Audi Q7, BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz E Class, Mercedes-Benz S Class and Rolls-Royce Ghost

Tejas Tours and Travels does not operate sleeper bus services. All our vehicles are seated configuration with push-back seats. On the Nanjangud route this is not a constraint, since the drive is comfortably done in daylight in under four and a quarter hours each way.

Billing Details — What Is Included and What Is Extra

We quote in writing before you book and the quote itemises everything, so there are no surprises at trip end. A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms your booking.

Included in the Quoted Fare

•             Base fare and fuel charges

•             Driver allowance

Not Included — Billed Separately at Actuals

•             Toll charges and parking fees

•             Interstate tax, where an itinerary crosses into another state

•             Additional driver bata after 9:45 PM

•             GST as applicable

•             Final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage

The garage-to-garage basis is standard across the organised group transport industry in Bangalore. The meter starts when the vehicle leaves our garage for your pickup point and ends when it returns. We factor this into the written quote, so the number you approve is the number you pay. On the Nanjangud route no interstate tax applies, since the entire journey stays within Karnataka — a real saving against Ooty or Tirupati trips of similar length. Do note the driver bata clause if you are timing the return around the Sunday palace illumination at Mysore.

Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if required. Vehicle insurance and full statutory driver and vehicle compliance are maintained across the fleet.

How to Book a Force Urbania for Rent in Bangalore — Step by Step

Booking an Urbania for hire in Bangalore with Tejas Travels takes under five minutes. Follow these four steps.

Step 1 — Contact Tejas Travels

•             Call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773, or email info@tejastravels.com. Available 24 hours, 7 days a week.

•             Share your travel date.

•             Share your Bangalore pickup location — area or landmark such as Whitefield, Electronic City, MG Road, Koramangala, KIA airport, a hotel name or a tech park.

•             Share your destination or full itinerary.

•             Share your number of passengers.

•             Share your preferred configuration: 13, 16 or 17 seat Urbania. The 13 seat layout trades two rows for legroom.

•             For KIA airport pickups, share the flight number — the driver tracks live flight status and adjusts pickup timing for delayed flights automatically.

•             For Nanjangud and other temple itineraries, share your darshan timing and the day-wise plan so we can set the departure and allocate a driver with route experience.

•             Mention the occasion for corporate, wedding and VIP bookings so the team can allocate the best-condition vehicle and, where required, arrange formal chauffeur attire.

Step 2 — Receive Your Written Quote

•             Within 2 hours of your enquiry, Tejas Travels sends a written quote via WhatsApp or email.

•             The quote itemises every charge:

•             Urbania hire rate — per kilometre or flat local package

•             Driver allowance — Rs 400 to Rs 1,000 per day depending on vehicle class

•             Applicable toll estimates

•             Interstate permit where the itinerary leaves Karnataka — Tamil Nadu for Ooty, Kerala for Wayanad, and Andhra Pradesh for Tirupati. Not applicable on the Nanjangud route.

•             GST

•             No verbal-only prices. Everything is in writing before you confirm.

•             For corporate clients requiring reimbursements, a Proforma Invoice can be issued at this stage.

•             If you want to compare two vehicle classes — Urbania against a tempo traveller, for instance — request both quotes at the same time.

Step 3 — Confirm Your Booking and Pay Advance

•             Once satisfied with the written quote, confirm via WhatsApp or phone.

•             A 20 percent advance payment of the total fare confirms the booking and holds the specific vehicle on your date.

•             Payment options: UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), NEFT, IMPS or RTGS bank transfer, or credit and debit card via payment link.

•             Advance receipt within 30 minutes.

•             Your confirmation includes:

•             Driver name and mobile number

•             Vehicle registration number

•             Departure time

•             Pickup location confirmation

•             Full billing breakdown — all in writing

•             The Urbania fleet is limited relative to demand, so for Nanjangud festival dates, the wedding season from November to February, New Year and Dasara, book well ahead. A higher advance may apply on peak dates.

Step 4 — Your Driver Arrives Early

•             Your assigned Tejas Travels driver arrives at the confirmed Bangalore pickup point 15 minutes before scheduled departure.

•             For KIA airport transfers, the driver coordinates at the Arrivals gate.

•             The vehicle is clean, sanitised, fuelled and ready.

•             For wedding and VIP bookings, the driver arrives in formal attire.

•             The driver calls 30 minutes before arrival as a courtesy.

•             During the trip the driver handles all routing, toll payments, Bangalore traffic navigation and temple parking arrangements at Nanjangud.

•             At trip end, balance payment is settled after deducting the advance.

•             Any additional kilometres or hours are billed at the pre-agreed rate.

Quick booking: WhatsApp +91 9980277773 with your vehicle preference, Bangalore pickup location, destination and travel date. Written quote in 2 hours.

Payment Methods — Urbania for Rent and Hire in Bangalore

Tejas Travels accepts all major digital and traditional payment methods for both advance booking and final settlement at trip end.

•             UPI — Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM UPI and Amazon Pay. The fastest method with instant confirmation on receipt. Recommended for all advance deposits.

•             Bank transfer — NEFT, IMPS and RTGS. For corporate clients and advances above Rs 5,000. IMPS is instant; NEFT can take up to 2 hours.

•             Credit and debit card — Visa, Mastercard and RuPay, via payment link sent to your registered mobile or email. Valid for both advance and full payment.

•             Net banking — All major Indian banks. Payment link via WhatsApp or email. Preferred for Bangalore IT corporate PO-based approvals.

•             Cash — Balance payable at time of travel, accepted at trip end. The advance must be digital for booking confirmation. A receipt is issued.

•             Corporate credit — For registered corporate accounts, with 30-day credit terms for signed Bangalore corporate clients and monthly consolidated invoicing available.

A 20 percent advance confirms your booking. For the luxury tier and for peak Bangalore dates — the wedding season from November to February, New Year, Dasara and Nanjangud festival periods — a higher advance may be required given limited fleet availability.

Cancellation Policy — Urbania Hire in Bangalore

Special Cancellation Conditions for Bangalore Urbania Hire

•             Weddings — minimum 7-day notice for a full refund. Cancellations within 3 days of the wedding date are non-refundable.

•             Festival dates — the Nanjangud Dodda Jathre, Shivaratri, Dasara and Suttur Jathra periods require a minimum 7-day notice for a full refund.

•             Peak dates — New Year, Diwali and Bangalore long weekends require a minimum 48-hour notice for a full refund. Less than 24 hours is non-refundable.

Frequently Asked Questions — Bangalore to Nanjanagudu Urbania

The bangalore to nanjangud distance by road is approximately 175 kilometres via NH275 through Bidadi, Ramanagara, Channapatna, Maddur, Mandya, Srirangapatna and Mysore, then twenty-five kilometres south toward Nanjangud. Using the Mysore Outer Ring Road bypass brings it to about 168 kilometres. An Urbania covers it in 3 hours 30 minutes to 4 hours 15 minutes including one halt — slightly quicker than a mini bus on the same route because of the vehicle’s cruising ability on the expressway. Leaving Bangalore between 4:30 AM and 5:30 AM puts you at the temple for the morning darshan.

Seat count overlaps, but the vehicles are built differently. The Urbania uses monocoque construction like a modern car, where a tempo traveller has a body mounted on a ladder frame, and the result is a quieter cabin, less body roll and noticeably less vibration over a four hour drive. The Urbania also has close to standing headroom in the aisle, larger windows and a lower step-in height. A tempo traveller is the more economical choice and remains a good vehicle; the Urbania is what you book when comfort is the deciding factor, particularly with elders in the group. We quote both side by side on request.

Urbania fare starts around Rs 13,900. The final figure depends on vehicle class, number of days and total kilometres run. Since billing is garage to garage on actual kilometres and hours, we issue a written itemised quote within 2 hours rather than a verbal estimate.

A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms your booking and holds the specific vehicle on your travel date. The advance must be paid digitally by UPI, bank transfer or card. A receipt is issued within 30 minutes and the balance is settled at trip end after deducting the advance. Because the Urbania fleet in Bangalore is limited relative to demand, a higher advance may be required for festival dates and the November to February wedding season.

We operate 13, 16 and 17 seat configurations, all air conditioned. The 17 seater carries the most people; the 13 seater uses the same body with two rows removed, which converts that space into legroom and is what most families and executive groups choose. If your group is under eight, a car or SUV is more economical. Above seventeen, a 12 to 24 seater mini bus or a 27 to 50 seater bus is the right vehicle. Tell us your headcount and how much luggage you are carrying and we will recommend the configuration.

No. Nanjangud is in Mysore district in Karnataka and the whole route stays within the state, so no interstate permit or interstate tax applies. That is a genuine cost difference against Ooty or Tirupati trips of similar distance, where Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh permits are billed at actuals. If your itinerary continues past Gundlupet into Tamil Nadu or Kerala, we arrange that permit separately and show it as a line item in the quote.

Yes. On a day booking the vehicle and driver stay with you throughout, which is exactly why groups choose this over cabs booked by the trip. The driver parks in the designated area at Nanjangud and is available when you come out, then continues to Chamundi Hills, Mysore or wherever the day takes you. Billing is on total kilometres and hours from garage to garage rather than per outing, so waiting time is already built into the quote you approve.

Most of them, and the vehicle’s size is an advantage on this route. Chamundi Hills, the Mysore Palace, Srirangapatna, Talakadu, Somanathapura and Suttur are all comfortable, and inside Mysore the Urbania handles the older streets around the Devaraja Market and the palace approach far better than a full coach. Two places have restrictions that apply to every private vehicle: at Bandipur the safaris run in Forest Department vehicles and the highway through the park closes between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM, and at Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta private vehicles stop at the base check post with a Forest Department shuttle going to the summit.

October to March is the most comfortable window, and Dasara in Mysore during September or October adds a great deal to a combined itinerary. The Dodda Jathre car festival at Nanjangud falls in March or April and is remarkable to witness, though the town fills completely and both accommodation and parking need arranging weeks ahead. April and May are hot on this stretch, which is when the Urbania’s climate control earns its price difference. The monsoon between June and September is pleasant, the countryside is at its best, and Bandipur and Kabini are green.

Cancelling more than 72 hours before departure carries no charge and the full advance is refunded within 5 to 7 working days. Between 48 and 72 hours the charge is 10 percent of the total fare, between 24 and 48 hours 25 percent, and between 12 and 24 hours 50 percent. Luxury tier bookings need 5 days notice and festival dates need 7 days for a full refund. On insurance: Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover, and passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if they wish to be covered. All vehicles carry valid insurance and full statutory compliance, and every driver is verified with a commercial licence and route experience, but personal passenger cover is not part of the booking. To book, call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773 or email info@tejastravels.com — our force urbania hire and WhatsApp enquiry lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
