Places to Visit in Kabini

Nagarhole National Park Jeep Safari

Nagarhole National Park Jeep Safari

The main reason most travellers book a Bangalore to Kabini cab in the first place, Nagarhole National Park, also called Rajiv Gandhi National Park, is one of Karnataka's premier tiger reserves and forms a single contiguous forest belt with Bandipur further south. Morning and afternoon jeep safaris run in fixed slots managed by the Karnataka Forest Department, and sightings regularly include elephants, gaur, spotted deer, and, with some luck, tigers or the elusive black leopard for which this belt has become known. Safari permits need to be booked in advance, particularly during the October to May peak season, and most resorts in Kabini handle this booking directly for their guests as part of the stay.

Safari permits need to be booked in advance, particularly during the October to May peak season, and most resorts in Kabini handle this booking directly for their guests as part of the stay.

Kabini Backwaters Boat Safari

Kabini Backwaters Boat Safari

Formed by the Kabini Dam backing up the river into the edge of the forest, the Kabini Backwaters offer a boat safari experience that is very different from the jeep drives, since animals come down to the water's edge to drink in full view of the slow-moving boat. Large herds of elephants are a common sight along the banks, particularly in the summer months when water levels drop and expose wide grassy patches, while marsh crocodiles and otters are visible closer to the boat itself. Sunrise and sunset slots offer the calmest water and the best light for photography, and many resorts run this as a complimentary activity alongside the jeep safari.

Kabini Dam (Beechanahalli)

Kabini Dam (Beechanahalli)

Built in 1974 near Beechanahalli village, the Kabini Dam has a water holding capacity of over 17 TMC and is what creates the wide backwaters that define this destination. Beyond its role as an irrigation and engineering structure, the dam area has become a habitat for more than two hundred and fifty species of birds, making it a popular stop for birdwatchers in addition to casual visitors looking for a scenic picnic spot. The open viewing area near the dam offers a clear look at the full stretch of water against the forested hills beyond, and is often combined with a stop at the nearby backwater viewpoint.

Karapura Elephant Viewing Point

Karapura Elephant Viewing Point

The sunset banks near Karapura are among the least commercialised spots in Kabini and have become a favourite among repeat visitors precisely because they feel untouched compared to the more popular viewpoints closer to the resorts. Large wild elephant herds are regularly spotted grazing along these banks in the late afternoon, especially during the dry months when the receding backwaters expose grassy patches close to the tree line. The area also has a few old forest bridges that make for atmospheric photography stops, and a short walk along the bank at dusk, accompanied by a naturalist, is one of the quieter ways to experience Kabini's wildlife away from vehicle traffic.

Rameshwara Temple

Rameshwara Temple

A modest but locally significant shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Rameshwara Temple near Kabini offers a quieter cultural counterpoint to the wildlife focused itinerary that dominates most visits here. The temple draws local devotees more than tourists, and its riverside setting gives it a peaceful character that pairs well with an early morning visit before the day's safari begins. It is not a major architectural landmark, but it rounds out a Kabini itinerary for travellers who want at least one stop that reflects the everyday religious life of the surrounding villages rather than just forest and water.

Kutta Village

Kutta Village

Sitting just across the border in Kodagu district, Kutta is a small village bordering the Nagarhole reserve and offers a cluster of homestays, coffee estate views, and access to trails that many Kabini based travellers use for a half day detour. The village is close to the Iruppu waterfalls, one of the more scenic cascades in this part of the Western Ghats, and the mix of coffee plantations and forest edge gives Kutta a distinctly different feel from the drier scrub visible around Kabini's main resort belt. It works well as an extension for travellers who have an extra day and want to combine Kabini with a taste of Coorg.

Bandipur Tiger Reserve

Bandipur Tiger Reserve

Connected to Nagarhole as part of the same larger forest corridor, Bandipur Tiger Reserve lies a short drive south of Kabini and is often added to a longer wildlife itinerary for travellers who want a second safari zone with a different terrain profile. Bandipur's drier deciduous forest supports large herds of Indian gaur and elephant, along with a healthy population of tigers and leopards, and its highway-adjacent boundary along NH766 makes a day trip from Kabini straightforward. Combining both reserves on the same trip roughly doubles the chances of a good wildlife sighting across the visit.

Coracle Ride on the Kapila River

Coracle Ride on the Kapila River

For a slower, more traditional way to experience the water here, a coracle ride on the Kapila River, a tributary that feeds into the Kabini system, offers a completely different pace from the motorised boat safaris. These round woven bamboo boats are steered by local boatmen using a single paddle, and the ride typically covers a short stretch of calm water close to the riverbank villages, giving a glimpse of rural life along the Kapila that most safari focused itineraries miss entirely. It is best treated as a relaxed half hour add-on rather than the centrepiece of a day, usually slotted in between a morning safari and an afternoon boat safari.

Force Urbania Packages for Bangalore to Kabini

Three packages cover almost every kabini tour package from bangalore enquiry we receive. Each is quoted on the same garage to garage basis and each can be adjusted, because a fixed package that does not fit your group is worth nothing. Note that safari and resort costs sit outside our quote and are arranged directly with your property.

Corporate Offsite Package

Built for technology and consulting teams from Whitefield, Electronic City, Manyata and the Outer Ring Road corridor. Twelve to sixteen seater Urbania, GST invoice, proforma invoice available at quote stage for purchase order approval, GPS tracking visible to the travel desk, and a driver briefed on safari timings rather than just an address. Kabini works unusually well as a corporate offsite because the schedule is externally imposed, which removes the usual problem of a group that cannot agree on when to do anything. Departure is timed to the afternoon safari on day one. Consolidated monthly invoicing is available for registered corporate accounts. See our corporate travels bangalore page for account setup.

Family Wildlife Package

Designed for extended family groups of eight to thirteen, and built around the fact that not everybody in a family wants four safaris. The schedule keeps the vehicle available at the resort so a group can split, with some going out on the jeep and others taking the boat, visiting Iruppu Falls or simply staying on the property. The return leg is routed through Srirangapatna or Mysore rather than straight home, which gives non wildlife members of the group something of their own. Families comparing this against a premium car rentals in bangalore booking should note that one Urbania is almost always cheaper than two cabs across three days.

Luxury Package

The top tier of urbania on rent bangalore hire for this route. The newest vehicle in the fleet, an eight or nine seater in the one by one captain layout so every passenger has an individual window seat, a chauffeur in formal attire, and a schedule built around the premium properties on the northern bank. This is the package photographers and visiting international guests book, and the one that pairs with a Bandipur extension or an onward run to Coorg. Airport pickup on the outbound morning can be added, which makes it a strong first itinerary for guests landing at Kempegowda International. Book well ahead for the March to May season, when both the fleet and the better Kabini properties fill early.

Billing Details for Your Bangalore to Kabini Urbania Hire

Tejas Travels quotes every booking in writing before you commit, and the billing structure below appears on that quote in exactly these terms. Twenty per cent of the total fare is payable in advance to confirm the booking and guarantee the specific Urbania variant on your travel date. The balance is settled at trip end.

Included in the quoted fare:

●        Base fare and fuel charges

●        Driver allowance

Excluded from the quoted fare and billed separately at actuals:

●        Toll and parking charges

●        Interstate tax, where the itinerary crosses a state border

●        Additional driver bata after 9:45 pm

●        Final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage

●        GST

Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover as part of the booking. Passengers who want travel insurance should arrange it independently before the trip.

Three practical notes for this route. First, safari charges, park entry and resort costs are entirely separate from your vehicle hire and are paid directly to the resort or the forest department. Nothing in our quote covers them. Second, garage to garage means the meter starts when the vehicle leaves our yard and stops when it returns, which on a two night Kabini trip covers the days the vehicle is stationed at your resort and available to you. Third, the Kabini route stays within Karnataka, so no interstate tax applies unless you extend toward Wayanad or Ooty. Groups searching urbania per km rate bangalore should confirm whether a competing quote is garage to garage or point to point, because the two are not comparable numbers.

How to Book a Force Urbania from Bangalore to Kabini

Booking takes under five minutes. Follow these four steps.

Step 1 - Contact Tejas Travels

●        Call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773, or email info@tejastravels.com. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

●        Share your travel date, Bangalore pickup location by area or landmark, such as Whitefield, Electronic City, MG Road, Koramangala, the airport, a hotel name or a tech park.

●        Share your destination or full itinerary, the number of passengers, and your preferred Urbania variant from the 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15 and 16 seater range.

●        For airport pickups, share the flight number. The driver tracks live flight status and adjusts pickup timing for delayed flights automatically.

●        For corporate, wedding or VIP bookings, mention the occasion so the team can allocate the best condition vehicle and arrange formal chauffeur attire where required.

●        For Kabini specifically, share the resort name and your safari slot. The Kabini and Veerana Hosahalli gates are on opposite sides of the park, more than an hour apart, and the departure time is set backwards from your first safari.

Step 2 - Receive your written quote

●        A written quote reaches you by WhatsApp or email within 2 hours of your enquiry.

●        The quote itemises every charge: vehicle hire rate in rupees per kilometre or as a flat package, driver allowance, toll estimate, and any interstate permit if the itinerary requires one.

●        Safari, park entry and resort charges are not part of the quote and are paid directly to your resort or the forest department.

●        No verbal only prices. Everything is in writing before you confirm.

●        Corporate clients needing reimbursement can request a proforma invoice at this stage, and comparison quotes for two vehicle classes can be issued together.

Step 3 - Confirm your booking and pay the advance

●        Once you are satisfied with the written quote, confirm by WhatsApp or phone.

●        A 20 per cent advance payment of the total fare confirms the booking.

●        Pay by UPI through Google Pay, PhonePe or Paytm, by NEFT, IMPS or RTGS bank transfer, or by credit or debit card through a payment link.

●        Your advance receipt is issued within 30 minutes.

●        Confirmation includes driver name and mobile number, vehicle registration, departure time, pickup location and the full billing breakdown, all in writing.

●        For peak dates, including the March to May wildlife season, long weekends, Diwali and New Year, a higher advance may apply because the Urbania fleet is limited.

Step 4 - Your driver arrives early

●        Your assigned driver reaches the confirmed Bangalore pickup point 15 minutes before scheduled departure.

●        For airport transfers, the driver coordinates at the arrivals gate.

●        The vehicle arrives clean, sanitised, fuelled and ready. For wedding and VIP bookings the driver is in formal attire.

●        The driver calls 30 minutes before arrival as a courtesy.

●        During the trip the driver handles all routing, toll payments and transfers between the resort and the safari gate.

●        At trip end the balance is settled after deducting the advance. Any additional kilometres or hours are billed at the pre agreed rate.

Quick booking: WhatsApp +91 9980277773 with your vehicle preference, Bangalore pickup location, resort name and travel date. Written quote in 2 hours.

Payment Methods

Tejas Travels accepts all major digital and traditional payment methods, for both the advance and the final settlement at trip end.

●        UPI. Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM UPI and Amazon Pay. The fastest method, with instant confirmation on receipt, and the recommended route for all advance deposits.

●        Bank transfer. NEFT, IMPS and RTGS. Used by corporate clients and for advances above Rs 10,000. IMPS is instant and NEFT can take up to 2 hours.

●        Credit or debit card. Visa, Mastercard and RuPay, through a payment link sent to your registered mobile number or email. Valid for both advance and full payment.

●        Net banking. All major Indian banks, through a payment link sent by WhatsApp or email. Preferred for purchase order based approvals in the Bangalore technology sector.

●        Cash. Accepted for the balance at trip end, with a receipt issued. The advance must be paid digitally for the booking to be confirmed.

●        Corporate credit. Thirty day credit terms for registered and signed corporate accounts, with monthly consolidated invoicing available.

Fleet note: the Force Urbania fleet is smaller than the standard tempo traveller fleet, and specific variants book out ahead of long weekends, Diwali, New Year and the Bangalore wedding season. The March to May Kabini season fills earliest, in step with the resorts themselves. An advance payment is what guarantees your seating variant on your date.

Cancellation Policy

Tejas Travels maintains a fair, transparent and tiered cancellation policy. All terms are communicated in writing at booking confirmation, with no hidden conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions — Bangalore to Kabini Urbania

The Kabini resort belt around Karapura is about 230 kilometres from central Bangalore, via the Mysore expressway, then Hunsur and HD Kote. Realistic driving time is five to five and a half hours including one halt. Only the last forty kilometres are slow. A seven o'clock departure gets you there in time to check in and make the afternoon safari.

No. Private and hired vehicles are not permitted inside the park. All safaris are conducted in forest department jeeps and buses, arranged through your resort or booked directly with the department. Your Urbania brings the group from Bangalore, stays available at the resort, and handles transfers to and from the safari gate. Any operator claiming they can drive you through the reserve is describing something that does not happen.

Rates start at Rs 40 per kilometre. Fuel is included and billing is garage to garage. A two night trip runs about 500 kilometres in total, which puts a 13 seater booking around Rs 17,500 plus driver bata, tolls and GST. Safari and resort costs are separate. Every quote is itemised in writing before you confirm.

Seven in the morning if you want the afternoon safari on arrival day, and no later than eight. Safari slots are fixed and capped, so a late departure costs you a full session rather than an hour. If your group cannot leave that early, plan the first day as a travel day and start with the following morning's safari instead of hoping to make the slot.

Two nights gives four sessions, which is the realistic minimum for a good sighting record in Kabini. One safari is a lottery. Booking is done through your resort or directly with the forest department, and seats are capped per slot, so book at the same time you book the room rather than on arrival. Confirm current slot timings with your resort, since they shift by season.

Twenty per cent of the total fare. The advance must be paid digitally, by UPI, bank transfer or card, for the booking to be confirmed. Your receipt is issued within 30 minutes and the balance is settled at trip end after the advance is deducted.

The quoted fare includes the base fare, fuel charges and the driver allowance. Charged separately are toll and parking, interstate tax where applicable, additional driver bata after 9:45 pm, and GST. The final rental is calculated on the total kilometres and hours from our garage back to our garage. Safari, park entry and resort costs are outside our quote entirely. Passenger insurance is not covered by Tejas Tours and Travels and should be arranged independently if you want it.

March to May is the strongest window. Water is scarce elsewhere in the forest, animals concentrate on the backwaters, and the elephant congregation here in those months is among the largest in Asia. The trade off is heat. October to February is far more comfortable and the forest is green, with good but less concentrated sightings. The monsoon months are quiet, wet and beautiful, with some restrictions possible.

Not sensibly. Eleven hours of driving for one safari is a poor trade, and the morning session, which is the better of the two, would be unreachable. Two nights is the standard and gives four sessions. One night works if you leave Bangalore early and accept that you will get two.

Cancellations more than 72 hours before departure carry no charge and the full advance is refunded within 5 to 7 working days. Charges apply on a sliding scale inside that window as set out above. Note that our terms cover the vehicle only, and your resort and safari bookings have their own cancellation policies. Date changes with more than 24 hours notice are accommodated at no penalty, subject to fleet availability.
