Shri Parshwanath Digambar Jain Sengan Mandir
The first of the three historic mutt temples belongs to the Sengan tradition and is dedicated to Bhagwan Parshwanath. Beyond the main idol, the temple houses dozens of stone and metal images collected over centuries, along with the samadhi of Bhattarak Veersen, the last pontiff of the Sengan seat. Look for the old painted panel depicting the Panchakalyanak, the five auspicious events in the life of a Tirthankara, and the Nandishwar Dweep composition worked in glass. It is the natural first stop on any karanja jain mutt visit.

Departure Point
Your journey to Ooty begins from Bangalore, the gateway to South India's most beloved hill stations. Pick-up is available from any part of the city — Koramangala, Electronic City, Whitefield, Hebbal, Yeshwanthpur, Marathahalli, or Majestic. The most common route out of Bangalore takes you onto NH275, the six-lane Mysore Expressway, which is one of the smoothest and best-maintained national highways in Karnataka. An early departure between 5 AM and 6 AM is strongly advised to clear Bangalore city limits before peak traffic begins. The first 50 km on the expressway are fast, comfortable, and lightly trafficked in the early hours, setting a pleasant tone for the journey ahead. Our drivers are experienced in choosing the optimal departure window and route based on real-time traffic conditions, ensuring that the first stretch of your Bangalore to Ooty road trip is efficient, calm, and enjoyable from the very first kilometre.
Birthplace of Tipu Sultan
The trip begins on Bellary Road past Hebbal and onto the elevated airport corridor, which is why an early start matters so much. After 7:00 AM the Hebbal flyover can add forty minutes before you have even left the city. Devanahalli sits just beyond Kempegowda International Airport, and the old stone fort, rebuilt under Haider Ali, still encloses part of the town. The plaque marking the birthplace of Tipu Sultan is a short detour off the highway.

Home of the Hanging Pillar
Past Bagepalli, NH44 enters Andhra Pradesh. A short detour near Kodikonda leads to Lepakshi, whose Veerabhadra temple from the Vijayanagara era is famous for a pillar that does not fully touch the floor, and for the giant monolithic Nandi at the village entrance. Penukonda, once a summer capital of the Vijayanagara kings, lies a little off the highway.

Groundnut Bowl of Andhra Pradesh
Anantapur itself is the heart of groundnut country and the regional commercial centre. Elapsed time: roughly four hours.

Gateway to Rayalaseema
Kurnool served as the first capital of Andhra State in the 1950s and sits on the banks of the Tungabhadra. The ruined Konda Reddy Buruju fort stands in the middle of the city. Just across the river, on the Telangana side, Alampur is home to the Jogulamba temple, one of the Shakti Peethas, and a group of early Chalukyan Navabrahma temples, an easy and rewarding thirty-minute detour. Kurnool is the natural lunch halt on day one, with plenty of vegetarian restaurants along the bypass. Elapsed time: about six and a half hours.

City of Pearls
The run through Jadcherla and Shadnagar is quick on the six-lane highway. Hyderabad is the recommended overnight halt, with every category of hotel near the Outer Ring Road so you never have to fight the city centre traffic. If your group prefers to push further, your driver can continue to Sangareddy, but stopping here keeps the second day comfortable and, importantly for Jain travellers, allows dinner before sunset. A bangalore to hyderabad cab booking follows exactly this first day.

City of Takht Sachkhand Hazur Sahib
NH161 runs north through the farmland of Medak and Kamareddy districts, crossing into Maharashtra before reaching Nanded on the Godavari. Nanded is home to Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Abchal Nagar Sahib, one of the five Takhts of Sikhism, built where Guru Gobind Singh spent his final days. Nanded is also the best alternative overnight halt if your group left Bangalore late. A bangalore to nanded cab follows this same corridor.

Ancient Vatsagulma, Capital of the Vakatakas
Washim is one of the oldest towns in Vidarbha. As Vatsagulma, it served as a seat of a branch of the Vakataka dynasty in the fourth and fifth centuries, and the Balaji temple and the Padmatirtha tank reflect its long religious history. For Jain pilgrims this is the key junction: Shirpur Antariksha Parshwanath lies a short drive away, and many families visit it here before heading on to Karanja.

Kashi of the Jains and Birthplace of Shri Nrusimha Saraswati
The final leg passes through Mangrulpir, a taluka town with its own old dargah, before reaching Karanja. The town sits close to an interchange on the Samruddhi Mahamarg expressway, and you will notice the narrow-gauge Shakuntala Railway line that once linked Karanja to Murtijapur and Yavatmal. Your driver will take you straight to the Mahavir Brahmacharyashram, your hotel, or directly to the temples if you are arriving in time for evening darshan.

Built for Jain associations and temple committees, covering Karanja, Shirpur and optional stops, with darshan and meal timings planned around the group's practice. The 16 seater urbania rent bangalore configuration keeps a full group in one vehicle.
A five to six day family yatra with rest stops, overnight halts and time for elders to take darshan without rushing. The 13 seater urbania rent bangalore option leaves room for luggage and supplies.
For trusts, educational institutions and companies organising pilgrimages for members or staff, with GST invoicing, a Proforma Invoice and consolidated billing. Our corporate travels bangalore desk handles multi-vehicle movements.

The bangalore to karanja distance is roughly 1,000 to 1,050 kilometres via Hyderabad and Nanded, about 17 to 19 hours of driving. We plan it over two days with an overnight halt. The bangalore to nanded distance is about 870 kilometres on the same route.
Urbania hire starts from Rs 40 per km, and the final urbania rent per km bangalore rate depends on the seating variant and number of days. The fare includes base fare, fuel and driver allowance. Toll, parking, interstate tax for three states, driver bata after 9:45 PM and GST are extra, billed garage to garage.
A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms your booking and holds the Urbania for your dates. For long multi-day yatras during peak dates, a higher advance may be requested.
The route crosses Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Maharashtra, so interstate permits for all three are required and billed at actuals. We arrange them before departure.
The Shri Mahavir Brahmacharyashram offers lodging for pilgrims, and there are basic hotels in town. For larger groups, Washim or Akola offer more choice.
Plan five to six days: two for the drive up, one or two for Karanja, Shirpur and nearby tirths, and two for the return. Adding Lonar or Aundha Nagnath needs an extra day.
Yes. Share your group's practice at enquiry, such as finishing meals before sunset, and the driver will plan halts and departure times around it. Many groups carry their own supplies, and the Urbania has space for them.
Yes. All are close to the route and can be added to the same itinerary. Share your full day-wise plan and we quote the entire yatra, including driver night halts, in one written number.
Our Force Urbania fleet covers 13 to 17 seater configurations, with cars, tempo travellers, mini buses and 27 to 50 seater buses for larger Samaj groups. Tejas Tours and Travels does not operate sleeper bus services.
Cancelling more than 72 hours ahead is free with a full refund in 5 to 7 working days; charges rise to 10, 25 and 50 percent as departure nears, and multi-day yatras need 5 days notice for a full refund. Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance, so passengers are advised to arrange their own. To book, call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773.
