Places to Visit in Kanyakumari

Vivekananda Rock and the Thiruvalluvar Statue

Vivekananda Rock and the Thiruvalluvar Statue

Two rocks a few hundred metres offshore, reached by ferry. On the first, Swami Vivekananda swam out and meditated for three days in 1892 before travelling to the Parliament of Religions in Chicago, and the memorial built there in 1970 holds a meditation hall and a shrine over the rock said to bear the goddess footprint. On the second stands the Thiruvalluvar statue, a hundred and thirty-three feet for the hundred and thirty-three chapters of the Thirukkural, completed in 2000. Visit early. The ferry queue rather than the rocks determines how long this takes.

Bhagavathy Amman Temple and the Sunrise Point

Bhagavathy Amman Temple and the Sunrise Point

The temple at the shore is dedicated to Kanya Kumari, the goddess who waited here as a virgin for a marriage that never took place, and it gives the cape its name. The diamond nose-stud of the deity is said to have been visible from the sea and to have drawn ships onto the rocks. It is an old and significant shrine with its own dress conventions - men remove shirts to enter. Visit at dawn and stay for sunrise, watched from the point beside it. Sunset is from the beach on the other side a short walk away, and doing both is the reason to spend a night here.

Padmanabhapuram Palace

Padmanabhapuram Palace

Thirty-five kilometres from Kanyakumari, this is the largest wooden palace complex in Asia and among the finest pieces of traditional architecture anywhere in India - the seat of the Travancore rulers, built in stages from the sixteenth century, in carved teak and rosewood with polished black floors, painted murals, latticed windows and a mother-of-pearl ceiling. It sits in Tamil Nadu but is maintained by the Kerala government, an arrangement that surprises visitors. Visit in the morning and allow two hours. It is closed on Mondays and photography inside is restricted. For many travellers it is the best thing in the district.

Suchindram Thanumalayan Temple

Suchindram Thanumalayan Temple

Twelve kilometres from the cape, this temple is unusual in being dedicated to Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma together as Thanumalayan, and it holds two of the district celebrated features: musical pillars carved from single blocks of granite producing distinct notes, and an eighteen-foot Hanuman carved from a single block, among the largest of its kind. The gopuram is substantial and the corridors are long and cool. Visit in the morning; the temple observes a midday closure and the pillars are usually demonstrated by the temple staff.

Vattakottai Fort and the Mathur Trough

Vattakottai Fort and the Mathur Trough

Vattakottai, seven kilometres up the coast, is a small eighteenth-century granite sea fort built under Travancore with the water breaking directly against its wall - compact, well kept and a considerably quieter place to look at the sea than the cape itself. Inland at Mathur stands the hanging trough, an aqueduct carrying an irrigation channel across a valley on tall pillars, around a kilometre long and over a hundred feet high, which you can walk along. Visit the fort at sunset and the trough as a short detour; between them they are the two most photographed things in the district after the cape.

Thirparappu, Pechiparai and Maruthuva Malai

Thirparappu, Pechiparai and Maruthuva Malai

West of Nagercoil the country climbs into the Western Ghats and changes completely. Thirparappu has a waterfall on the Kodayar with a temple beside it, best from June to September; Pechiparai is a reservoir among forested hills a little further on. Maruthuva Malai, closer to the cape, is a hill traditionally held to be a fragment of the Sanjeevani mountain dropped by Hanuman, and it is known for the medicinal herbs on its slopes and a cave associated with Agastya. Visit any as a half day. This corner of the district is green and hilly in a way the approach along the highway does not prepare you for.

Urbania Packages for the Bangalore to Kanyakumari Route

Corporate Package

Aimed at Bangalore technology and manufacturing teams travelling south for plant visits, dealer conferences, leadership offsites and reward trips. The package covers GST invoicing, a Proforma Invoice where PO-based approval is required, one named driver held for the entire multi-day trip, and consolidated monthly billing on registered accounts. Duty slips are signed daily and reconciled against the closing invoice. Where the team is not departing from a single office, the driver can collect from two or three points across the city on the way out, typically the Whitefield, Manyata and Electronic City clusters. Where a client needs several vehicles moving together, corporate van rental bangalore can be combined with our larger coaches under a single booking reference. Our corporate travels desk runs the whole arrangement.

Family Package

Kanyakumari is rarely booked on its own by families. It usually arrives as the southern end of a wider circuit taking in Madurai and Rameswaram over five to seven days, and the package is built around that shape. Temple timings drive the daily schedule rather than driving distances, and the driver understands that a family will be inside a complex for three hours and expects the van waiting when they come out. The Urbania earns its keep here on two counts. Luggage volume on a week-long trip is more than three cars can sensibly hold, and mixed-age groups travelling with elderly parents benefit from the step height and the seat comfort in a way that is hard to appreciate until day two. A rameshwaram kanyakumari tour package from bangalore is quoted as one continuous itinerary rather than as separate legs.

Luxury Package

The Urbania is already the premium end of group travel, and this tier takes the specification further: the 13 seater configuration with the widest seat pitch we offer, additional legroom, upgraded interiors and a fitted entertainment system, with a chauffeur in formal attire where the occasion calls for it. It suits senior management movement, milestone family celebrations, wedding party travel and any group for whom the journey is part of the occasion rather than a cost line. Across two driving days and roughly fourteen hours at the wheel, the difference between this and a standard configuration is not a detail. If your requirement extends beyond seventeen passengers at the same standard, our volvo bus rental bangalore tier covers luxury bus hire on the same corridor.

Our Vehicle Range in Bangalore

Our ac urbania rental bangalore fleet runs 13, 15 and 17 seater configurations, all air conditioned. Because we operate the complete range of group vehicles from one Bangalore base, a change in headcount after booking can normally be handled by moving you across categories rather than starting again from scratch.

•     Force Urbania — 13 to 17 seater luxury van, the premium vehicle on this route

•     Tempo traveller — 8 to 18 seater, AC and non-AC, the standard group option

•     Mini bus — 12 to 24 seater, for groups beyond Urbania capacity

•     Bus — 27 to 50 seater, including Volvo and Benz coaches for large movements

•     Cars — 4 to 7 seater, from Etios, Dzire, Innova and Commuter through Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross and Fortuner, up to Corolla Altis, Camry, Audi A6, Audi Q7, BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz E Class, Mercedes-Benz S Class and Rolls-Royce Ghost

Tejas Tours and Travels does not operate sleeper services in any category. Every vehicle we run is seated configuration with push-back seats, the Urbania included. On a route of this length that shapes how the itinerary is planned. Rather than driving through the night, we build in a hotel halt at Madurai or Tirunelveli and split the 685 kilometres across two days, which is both more comfortable and materially safer than continuous overnight running. It is the arrangement we put to every group that asks about doing it in a single push.

Billing Details — What Is Included and What Is Extra

Everything is quoted in writing before you book, and the quote itemises each line so nothing surprises you at the end of the trip. A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms the booking.

Included in the Quoted Fare

•     Base fare and fuel charges

•     Driver allowance

Not Included — Billed Separately at Actuals

•     Toll charges and parking fees

•     Interstate tax and permit for the Karnataka to Tamil Nadu crossing

•     Additional driver bata after 9:45 PM

•     GST as applicable

•     Final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage

Garage-to-garage is the standard basis across the organised group transport industry in Bangalore. The meter starts when the vehicle leaves our garage for your pickup point and stops when it returns to it. This is built into the written quote, so the figure you approve is the figure you settle.

Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if required. Vehicle insurance and full statutory driver and vehicle compliance are maintained across the fleet.

How to Book a Force Urbania for Rent in Bangalore — Step by Step

Booking a Force Urbania for hire in Bangalore with Tejas Travels takes under five minutes. Follow these four steps.

Step 1 — Contact Tejas Travels

•     Call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773, or email info@tejastravels.com. Available 24 hours, 7 days a week.

•     Share your travel date.

•     Share your Bangalore pickup location — area or landmark such as Whitefield, Electronic City, MG Road, Koramangala, KIA airport, a hotel name or a tech park.

•     Share your destination or full itinerary.

•     Share the number of passengers.

•     Share your preferred Urbania configuration: 13, 15 or 17 seater.

•     For KIA airport pickups, share the flight number. The driver tracks live flight status and adjusts pickup timing for delayed flights automatically.

•     For corporate bookings from Bangalore tech parks, share your GST number and preferred invoicing format.

•     For wedding, VIP and corporate occasions, mention the occasion so the team can allocate the best-condition vehicle and, where required, a chauffeur in formal attire.

•     For Kanyakumari and other multi-day outstation hire, share the full day-wise itinerary so we can allocate a driver with experience on that specific route.

Step 2 — Receive Your Written Quote

•     Within 2 hours of your enquiry, Tejas Travels sends a written quote via WhatsApp or email.

•     The quote itemises every charge:

◦      Urbania hire rate — per kilometre or flat local package

◦      Driver allowance — Rs 400 to Rs 1,000 per day depending on vehicle class

◦      Applicable toll estimates

◦      Interstate permit where applicable — Tamil Nadu for Kanyakumari and Ooty, Kerala for Wayanad, and Andhra Pradesh for Tirupati

◦      GST

•     No verbal-only pricing. Everything is in writing before you commit.

•     For corporate clients requiring reimbursements, a Proforma Invoice can be issued at this stage for PO-based approval.

•     If you want to compare two vehicle classes, request both quotes at the same time.

Step 3 — Confirm Your Booking and Pay Advance

•     Review the written quote and confirm via WhatsApp or phone.

•     A 20 percent advance payment of the total fare confirms the booking and guarantees the specific Urbania variant on your date.

•     Payment options: UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), NEFT, IMPS or RTGS bank transfer, or credit and debit card via payment link.

•     Advance receipt issued within 30 minutes.

•     Your confirmation includes:

◦      Driver name and mobile number

◦      Vehicle registration number

◦      Departure time

◦      Pickup location confirmation

◦      Full billing breakdown — all sent to WhatsApp or email in writing

•     For peak Bangalore travel dates — New Year, Diwali, long IT weekends, the October Dasara period and the November to February wedding season — book well ahead, as Urbania fleet availability is limited.

Step 4 — Your Driver and Urbania Arrive Early

•     Your assigned Tejas Travels driver arrives at the confirmed Bangalore pickup point 15 minutes before scheduled departure.

•     For KIA airport transfers, the driver coordinates at the Arrivals gate.

•     The vehicle will be clean, sanitised, fuelled and ready.

•     For wedding and VIP bookings, the driver arrives in formal attire.

•     The driver calls you 30 minutes before arrival as a courtesy.

•     During the trip the driver handles all routing, toll payments, ORR and NICE road exits, and Karnataka and Tamil Nadu permit checkpoints.

•     At trip end the balance is settled after deducting the advance.

•     Any additional kilometres or hours are billed at the pre-agreed rate.

Quick booking: WhatsApp +91 9980277773 with your group size, Bangalore pickup area, destination and travel date. Written Urbania quote in 2 hours.

Payment Methods — Force Urbania for Rent and Hire in Bangalore

Tejas Travels accepts all major digital and traditional payment methods for both advance deposits and final settlement at trip end.

•     UPI — Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM UPI and Amazon Pay. The fastest method with instant confirmation on receipt. Recommended for all advance deposits.

•     Bank transfer — NEFT, IMPS and RTGS. For corporate clients and advances above Rs 5,000. IMPS is instant; NEFT can take up to 2 hours.

•     Credit and debit card — Visa, Mastercard and RuPay, via payment link sent to your registered mobile or email. Valid for both advance and full payment.

•     Net banking — All major Indian banks. Payment link via WhatsApp or email. Preferred for Bangalore IT corporate PO-based approvals.

•     Cash — Balance payable at time of travel, accepted at trip end. The advance must be digital for booking confirmation. A receipt is issued.

•     Corporate credit — For registered corporate accounts, with 30-day credit terms for signed Bangalore corporate clients and monthly consolidated invoicing available.

A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms your booking and guarantees vehicle availability. Because the Urbania fleet in Bangalore is limited relative to demand, a higher advance may be required for Kanyakumari, Rameswaram and other multi-day outstation hire on peak dates and through the wedding season.

Frequently Asked Questions — Bangalore to Kanyakumari Urbania

The bangalore to kanyakumari distance by road comes to approximately 685 kilometres on NH44, running through Hosur, Krishnagiri, Salem, Karur, Dindigul, Madurai, Tirunelveli and Nagercoil. Driving time is 12 hours 30 minutes to 14 hours, which is why we plan it across two days with a night at Madurai. Groups determined to do it in one go need to be clear of Bangalore by 4:00 AM and should expect to arrive after dark.

Urbania fare starts around Rs 56,700. The final figure depends on vehicle class, number of days and total kilometres run. Since billing is garage to garage on actual kilometres and hours, we issue a written itemised quote within 2 hours rather than a verbal estimate.

A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms the booking and holds the specific Urbania variant for your travel date. It must be paid digitally by UPI, bank transfer or card. A receipt is issued within 30 minutes and the balance is settled at trip end after the advance is deducted. Cash is accepted for the balance but not for the confirming advance. Because Urbania availability in Bangalore is tighter than for other categories, a higher advance may be asked for on peak dates.

The Urbania uses a monocoque body rather than a body mounted on a ladder chassis, which cuts vibration and noise and gives a noticeably more settled ride at highway speed. The cabin is taller, the aisle wider, the seats individually contoured with proper headrests, and the air conditioning is ducted through roof vents with individual outlets. A tempo traveller carries 8 to 18 passengers and costs less per kilometre; an Urbania carries 13 to 17 and costs more. On a short trip the difference is marginal. Across 685 kilometres and two driving days it is the main thing people comment on afterwards.

No. Tejas Tours and Travels does not operate sleeper services in any vehicle category, Urbania included. Everything in the fleet is seated configuration with push-back seats. On a route of this length we plan an overnight hotel halt at Madurai or Tirunelveli rather than driving through the night, which is more comfortable and considerably safer. Share your dates and we can suggest halt options when we send the quote.

Yes. Moving from Karnataka into Tamil Nadu requires a valid interstate permit, billed at actuals rather than folded into the base rate. We arrange the documentation before departure so there is nothing for you to organise. It is checked at the Attibele post shortly after Hosur, and our drivers handle both the paperwork and the payment at the counter as routine.

Our urbania rental bangalore fleet runs 13, 15 and 17 seater configurations, all air conditioned. The 13 seater carries the widest seat pitch and is what we allocate for the luxury tier. Below thirteen passengers, a car or a smaller tempo traveller is more economical and you are paying for unused space. Above seventeen, our 12 to 24 seater mini buses or 27 to 50 seater coaches, including Volvo and Benz, are the better fit. Tell us your headcount and luggage at enquiry stage and we will recommend the right size.

Yes, and this is how the great majority of groups book it. The same vehicle and the same driver remain with you throughout, covering the local kanyakumari sightseeing package circuit across the Bhagavathy Amman Temple, Gandhi Mandapam, Vattakottai Fort, Suchindram and Padmanabhapuram Palace, along with onward legs to Rameswaram or back through Madurai. Multi-day bookings are billed on total kilometres and hours with a per-day minimum plus driver allowance. Send the day-wise itinerary when you enquire and we quote the entire trip as a single figure.

Cancelling more than 72 hours before departure carries no charge, with the full advance refunded within 5 to 7 working days. Between 48 and 72 hours the charge is 10 percent of the total fare, between 24 and 48 hours it is 25 percent, and between 12 and 24 hours it is 50 percent. Multi-day outstation trips to Kanyakumari require a minimum 7-day notice for a full refund, and Urbania bookings specifically need 5-day notice given limited fleet availability. Date changes and vehicle upgrades requested more than 24 hours ahead are accommodated at no penalty, subject to availability.

Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if they wish to be covered. Every vehicle carries valid insurance and full statutory compliance, and each driver is verified with a commercial licence and route experience, but personal passenger cover is not part of the booking. To book, call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773 or email info@tejastravels.com with your travel date, Bangalore pickup location, group size and day-wise itinerary. A written itemised quote follows within 2 hours; confirm it, pay the 20 percent advance, and you receive driver details, vehicle registration and the full billing breakdown in writing. Our force urbania hire enquiry lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
