Mysore Zoo (Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens), it is one of the oldest, very popular and attractive zoological garden founded in the year of 1892. The zoo is located near to palace. Birds: Around 170 different species of birds have been recorded from Ranganathittu. Most commonly seen birds have Painted Stork, Kingfishers, Cormorants, Darter, Herons, River Tern, Egrets, Indian Roller, Blackheaded Ibis, Spoonbill, Great Stone Plover, and Spot-billed Pelicans.

Nagarhole National Park and Tiger Reserve, also referred as Rajiv Gandhi National Park is the enchanting 247 square-mile long wild reserve located in Kodagu and Mysore district of Karnataka. Attracted with thick forest cover at the west of the Kabini River, the Nagarhole National Park is counted among the well-maintained national parks in India. Nagarhole is situated to the north-west of Bandipur National Park which are separated by Kabini reservoir. Inside the park coracle boat riding facility is available in Kabini River.
